Over the weekend I was doing some maintenance on the wife's car. While changing out one of the spark plugs, my hand slipped and caught the back of the fuel rail. 6 stitches and a tetanus shot later I was patched back up.
But in the process I proved that you can get blood out of a tune-up!
OMG some days are exactly like that---mine was yesterday. Left for a job early in the AM, about 23 miles from home---'twas to be a quickie then onto two additional stops then back home theoretically by noon or so. First screw up was forgetting my cell phone at home. Okay---finished the first job quickly so had time to go fetch it.
That trip took me right past what would have been the last job of the day, appointment time close enough due the forgetfulness I was able to take care of that job THEN onto retrieve some parts close to my first job. As I left the second job I remembered I'd not cleaned up my work area from the first job so one more diversion. Not a biggie as I was under no huge time crunch. Along the way I get another call for service which at this point fit perfectly into my plans, another easy job and additional $250 profit.
Arriving at the new job I precede as normal, installing a windshield I've been doing since 1997---turns out the part I'd brought (new to me brand) didn't fit as it should so struggled with it for an additional 2 hours. A typical 1 hour installation turned into 3 hours.
Just wasn't my day---I attribute it all to forgetting that damned cell phone.
