For a month now I've had an issue with the truck not shifting from first to 2nd easily once the truck got warmed up. had it diagnosed by 2 ford techs and 2 tranny shops and did everything they said to do including rebuild the tranny. Nothing helped. Today I took the pcm out of the cradle and put it under the hood to see if it was affected when my cab temperature changed thinking the engine compartment would be much cooler especially today. I drove for an hour which is longer than I have been able to in weeks without any issue at all so hopefully I found the solution. I have a can of freeze it in the truck now with me and if it acts up i'll super cool the pcm and see if it helps. but so far so good, Looks like a custom burned pcm from dptuner may have been all I needed all along.
If you are still running the tuner, take it out. Run it stock, see what happens.
Some tuners can get flaky in the tranny department.
Good morning guys.
It is another cold one out there, 12*
It is a busy weekend, the wife and I went to the RV show in Springfield yesterday.
Today I have a cub scout meeting at my house and then tonight we are going to a Shrek play with the kids in Hartford.
Enjoy your Sunday.
Thanks for the advice Speeder, I have removed and tried every possible tune with the tuner to try and resolve the issue, Just a bizarre situation where it seems the pcm at a certain temp affects the shifting of the transmission.
Good morning and Happy Sunday morning to ya!
In the smokey mountains enjoying some R&R!
Heading out to cycle in the mountains again.
Have a great day all!
thats terrible news andy. i was going to try them for a chip in the RV windshield, because those are very expensive. i havent had a chance to have it done yet.
had a chip in my mustang and the insurance company sent someone to fill it,, bothered me so much a few months later i ended up cracking the windshield so they would replace it. The fills not really a cosmetic fix it's just an epoxy to help stop it from becoming a crack
i just drained the water from my fuel, AGAIN. i must have gotten a crappy load of fuel somewhere.
now i am trying to find a ghost coolant leak. the past few mornings i come out to a 12" puddle under the front of the truck. i cant see where its leaking, and now it has been 30 minutes on the pressure tester at 20psi with no leaks.
oh AND....the volkswagen only gets a few mpg's better than the mustang, and the vw horn stopped working.
