Hey Ray/Aaron, does this weekend still look good? I think I am sitting in on a "practical" exam for an EMT class to see what the test will look like when I have to take it in a few months in the morning, but should be done by 10 or 11 he said.

i they did all the work to change the seals, the friggen bearings would have added 10 minutes and $50. when you take the seal out, the bearing is RIGHT THERE! i had to make my own special tool but once i did, it took a few seconds to pull the old bearings out and the new ones tap right in. now they can do the seals AGAIN when they go in to change the bearings.

of course its normal, if it wasnt normal they would have to do the repair again for free. i have never seen an axle seal leak "just because". its always caused by rust (water in the oil) or loose bearings. the bearings should have less than .010" clearance. the mustang bearings were around .020 and had totally wasted the seals. when i put the new bearings in, the play was around .002.

so looks like i know where i am going to college, at vermont tech they have a good civil engineering program and an aeronautical program AND you can keep your snowmobile on campus if you have a gpa better than 2.0
