And yeah, those 205's are heavy *****. I've heard of guys dropping them on themselves and they weigh like 180 pounds. heavy sons of b*tchs.
i read somewhere they were 124lbs dry...that cant be right cause a t-case weighs more than a tranny and a zf is close to 150 lbs i think...mind you thats a heavy azz tranny lol...my M5OD is aobut 120 lbs i think...so i wouldnt doubt that 205 is closer to 180...guess ill find out when i go to pick er up off the ground LOL
we dont have tranny jacks in canada...because we are not pussies LMAO jks man...
i work in a shop an work on 9 ton trucks all day...do you seriously think im not gonna take advantage of the space and tools at my shop? ill rebuild the thing at home but ill do the swap in the shop...we have two 5 ton over head cranes...i who needs to drop the tranny? ill just pick up the truck ! LOL
when you do do the ZF/205 swap, make another nice long thread documenting everything that could possibly go wrong on such a swap so we all know exactly what not to do....lol
but seriously, I wouldn't mind a 205 one day if I do get to the point of one tons on this blue beast. And having the information to show me how it's done would be a good thing.
well i plan on getting the tranny/t-case...rebuilding it and put itall together and make sure it all works 5 times over..the take it to the shop and install it all LOL
i had a crazy idea too...if i start breaking axles il do the 1 ton rear end...then i coil spring a d60
how many times have you seen a coil sprung d60???
and thinking about it, it wouldnt be that hard...just gotta build rad arms and some form of lower coil bucket
I've seen coil sprung D60's before lol. Not that special.
Lets see.. six months to do an SAS..
So thats like... six years to do a transmission swap..?
yeah i know ive seen them before too...but how many have you see? thats what i asked LOL....jeeeez
i have pulled my POS M5OD out of that truck to do the slave twice and i did it in a matter of hours...i cant remember how many but less than 8 i know that LOL
why would that break stuff....0.05 of a gear off...whoopie ****, think that makes a difference in 3 feet of snow...no
3.50 and 3.55 the different is only noticeble on dry ground...and i did that once to make sure it was the t-case that was ****ed again...not something else
i think 4.56 and a twin stick NP-205 case will be a better combo LOL
