does that look sound to you? haha i think thatl do er...then ill have a bit more traction u front...basically the standard open carrier 3.73 and up is $64 and the trac-lock carrier and clutch kit is $170...so for an extra $100 i can get some mroe traction up front while im in there
i don't think your internal parts are the same as the trac-lock parts, but i'm not 100% sure.
i'd buy this and be done with it D44 Open carrier complete, 3.93 - 5.38 trac-locks aren't worth the money. you can make an open diff work just as good buy slightly applying the brakes to make it differentiate from side to side.
i already have to work clutch and throttle...i only have two feet lol...is a trac lock not at least one notch up from a freakin open diff...doing snow wheelin today 90% of the time i only had one of my front tires pulling...what good is that? supposed to be 4 wheel drive not 3 wheel drive
i do too, the only good part of open fronts are winter. if you get alot of snow, then i assume you have icy chitty roads alot. i had an 85 with detroit rear and a true track front. illinois winters are kinda rough, and i could barely move in a straight line with that truck. yeah it was great for wheeling, but if you drive it regularly, you'll hate it. if you only plan to have that axle for a year, i say keep it open.
because...i the 1 tons arent gonna be in a year for sure..it might be a few years for all i know...i do things to this truck pretty much just to learn how to do them...
waiting on the R&P gears now...summit did have the right ones and theyre sending them to me and paying me to ship the old ones to them ...the carrier...gonna have to wait for cash and send money to JBG i guess...im still tempted to get the LS front end while im there though...but if my spider gears might not fit i dont wanna be stuck with no parts again...
Ur current spiders will fit in the new case for the front axle.
yeah but would they fit in the true trac carrier?
not gonna lie now that i bought that powertrax for the rear end im hearing more and more about how they are easy to break and im starting to worry...maybe ill find that ford LS if its still for sale and sell that powertrax...
Not in a true trac. I've seen issues with lockrights in some applications. But also with that said, I got a Aussie Locker for my 94 this weekend. I'm going to put in in soon and see how it works. Two year warranty, no tire size or HP limits, so I think it might be a bit better than a lockright
