My son-in-law is a US Marine. He is attached to VMFA-323, the Death Rattlers. They are a Marine attack squadron. He is a power technician on the F-18 Super Hornet and he works the flight line. They are currently stationed aboard the USS John C. Stennis.
It's called a Tiger Cruise and is US Navy tradition. I am flattered that he asked me, and that I get to go. It's a once in a lifetime chance.
Here's a little blurb about Tiger Cruise:
Simply put, a "TIGER CRUISE" is a chance for relatives of the sailors to experience what living & working on a functional naval vessel is like. The navy will set you up with your own berth with the other sailors,(& fellow Tiger cruisers) feed you, & from what we are hearing put on an "airshow". You'll see all aircraft take off & get arrested, as well as a series of high speed flybys.
A U.S.O. show is in the works, with some big name entertainment........but with all things we'll just have to wait to see what will materialize.
We'll discuss it at the elders meeting then IF you pass the iniation........
The hot machete initiation? did that in boy scouts? walkin' on broken glass barefoot while being chased by a gigolo? done it..passed...have the magled feet to prove it....
