Part VI
I hope your nephew will continue to get better! With the school year coming to an end hopefully he won't have to deal with that one teacher much longer and his little stomach can get back to normal!
Things are okay here, SSDD (same ****t different day). Thanks for asking!
My nephew is so glad to have this school year out of the way. I think my sis-in-law is going to talk to the school superintendant since the principal refused to move him. We'll see how it plays out but I'm guessing they'll leave him there since the year's almost over now. Bad thing is that they've called school off so many times because of snow this year, the kids don't get out until June 17 or 18. They were originally supposed to get out on May 28.
We're thinking about putting our kids in a private Christian Academy here next year. They teach K-12 and the kids only go four days a week so they're off every Friday-Sunday. We haven't decided for sure yet but the public school system is getting worse all of the time.
At this point in the year it might be tough to move your nephew but if it is causing him to get sick something has to be done since they have a little over a month left.
I don't blame you for wanting to put your kids in a private school. I am pretty lucky with the district my chicks are in, I like the school and their teachers. There are quite a few districts in the state I would never put my chicks in. I went to some crappy schools as a kid and don't want my kids to go through and deal with the same crap that I did.
The deal with the nephew just sucks too. I'm sure they'll leave him where he is now until school's out. Rebecca already knows which teacher she wants him to have next year though and I really don't think she'll get an argument out of the principal.
The schools here could be a lot better. We have had a recent influx of thugs that have moved into many of the newly constructed projects. The other night at a PTA assembly, I ran into no less that 20 people I've arrested or had to deal with in the past year. Even worse, two of those have kids in each of my kids' classes. Time to make a change. The good thing about the private school we're looking at is they start the school year after Labor Day and never go past Memorial Day. Plus, they have three day weekends all year long. Works out good for me too as I'm off every other Friday-Sunday too.
Well, it's time to hit the hay...I'll check back in tomorrow. Great looking kids by the way. Sorry I didn't comment on it sooner but this has been a day from hell today. And Kudos to everybody on their pics! Great pics by everybody and like was said before, it's pretty cool to finally put faces with names and posts!
'Night Cris and everyone.
what the heck are you talkin about?? i know you ain't talkin about on board air.
ya got to remember. some of us are old, and don't know what abbreviations mean.
When the map sees 24-25 psi it defuels the truck so that you wont have an over boost and destroy the turbo. With the short WOT runs that we do we don't have to worry about turbo damage.
I'll take some pics and let you guys know. Basically you take an air regulator and preset it at 22 psi and put it in line with the map sensor this prevents the map from seeing anyting over 22 psi thus preventing the truck from defueling.
oh. ok. that makes a lot of sense now.
so basically we get a $5 air compressor pressure regulator and put it in the map sensor line after the "T" for the boost gauge, rite??
Well I believe Jim and Chris explained it.
yup, i think the did that quite well
I was in 80E powering up a hill when it happened. It defueled and kept me at about 60 mph until the boost dropped and then everything returned to normal. Wasn't extended pressure just a quick spike. Apparently enough to trip the PCM.
In fact next week I might just smoke the tires, seein as how I am getting some new ones. Or would that be irresponsible of me?
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
ITP has one, as I'm sure others do. Brandon (bdrummonds) also did a writeup of how to build your own for ~$25-ish
I had an old '68 Chevy Impala as a DD that ran great, had some headers, glass packs and everything else was stock.
My grandmother passes away and I buy her '65 Chrysler Newport as my new DD.

OK, so what to do with the Impala?????
I decide to cut the body off of the frame, except for the windshield and the two front seats, buy some big ol' mud bogger tires for the rear and hit the road. It still had seat belts so it had to be legal, right?

That thing would BURN RUBBER until I let off of the gas.
All that was left of that thing was the frame, the engine, the firewall, the seats and the windshield.

over the years, it has been upgraded a few times, "sold" to 8 different people making it's way all the way out to Ohio, and then back here to jersey. about 15 years ago, we found it sitting at an impound yard 5 towns over, and after telling the yard owner its early history, he gave it to us.
we brought it home, and dropped a 400 chevy with a turbo 400 trans into it, welded a set of 15 inch rim centers into 16.5 truck rims with directional tires on them, and went bashing again. after the 800 acres we drove it in was sold, it was parked for 6 years. last summer when scrap was real high, it took it's final ride over the scales because the engine was seized from sitting. it brought just about $500

ya want to come help me with mine next week??
it only took me 45 minutes to find the damn computer and take it out so i could get the code for clay.
while it is true you can't post pics like that in the forums, links to said pics ARE allowed.
Next weekend I am going to Petes to help him with some stuff on his truck. If you want swing on by and I'll help you with the DP It is about a 2.5 hour ride for you
