I posted up a question about brake controllers and was recommended the P3 by Dodge/GMC/Chevy and Ford people.
One thing I have to do is figure out how to mount my trailer plug. The way the current one is on there is pretty screwy.
It's on a long cord that just sits loose. A picture's worth a thousand words so here you go:
The whitish cord on the left that is wound around the hitch is what the plug is on. By the way that locking pin has since been smashed off and replaced.

Should be able to buy the real setup at any parts store and it will mount to the bumper I believe. Where is your license plate Pete?

Yea. When Dodge/GMC/Chevy and Ford guys can all agree on something then it MUST be good.

I lucked out and got the hitch & plug setup off an '09 F350 for $87 that came off a truck that had a service body installed. Check craigslist or maybe your local breakers. I'm planning on going to my local breaker tomorrow. I'll see what they've got for wiring plugs, etc.if you like. I bought a similar setup before for about $30 or $40 I think.

My license plate is still at the DMV. Truck's not registered yet.
I don't have my license yet because of this GREAT *sarcasm dripping from my voice* state of CT. I'm waiting on the driving school to call me with a date for my license test. Then a few months after that the truck will get registered/insured so I can drive it around.
First I'll be driving Pinkie around for a while.
Insurance on my truck isn't gonna be cheap. Plus I've still got to go pay my taxes on the truck before I can register it.

Oh well. No school Friday so it's alright.
Then I have the whole week after that off. And then the Friday the week after I have a half day.

On Friday I've got to get to Trailer Depot to pick up a pintle hitch, truck side 7 way round connector, and Tekonsha Prodigy P3 brake controller.
Seems like I do nothing but spend money on a truck I can't even drive yet! Well... not legally at least.
It may have gotten out into one of the back fields and done some donuts.
Edit: Way to go on finding a trailer, Brendan! I bet you're excited about that. If you don't mind my asking how much did a trailer like that set you back?

Hey y'all....
Hope everyone is well. I am off today but just got word that a good friend and coworker of mind had a heart attack and died in his sleep over the weekend.
Big time bummer. This guy wasn't even 40 years old yet. I am sitting here a little stunned and very saddened by his passing.

Scott, man Im sorry to hear that. A fella so young shouldnt have passed away. Lately Ive really come to question people like that passing on, when there are so many bad people in the world that should be taken instead. It just doesnt seem fair.

Scott - sorry to hear about your friend.
2009 has quite frankly sucked so far. You all know about my Dad. What you didn't know about was that my buddy Billy's 34 year old wife died earlier this year. Left a beautiful 1 year old baby girl behind. A week after I got back to Colorado, my buddy Jon called me... his younger brother (37!!) passed.
We've lost Mark here, and some others that were a big part. Trust me, I know death is always there, but D*** IT.... ENOUGH ALREADY!!!
I hope that doesn't come across as a rant at anyone here, just a general frustration I needed to get out.
Scott, if there's anything I can do to help, I'll be glad to come down there and help you eat up a massive bbq!!
