Alright, i wont bite my tongue, i think it complete BS that anybody will make a generalization about age. Do i know there are a lot of punk kids out there, yes i do. But it is unfair to guys like Pete and I, which Pete is 17, and i am 20, to get stereotyped against. I have met Pete first hand and i know he isn't lazy and he does work his tail off for what he has. You can go ahead so say young kids are whatever you want, but know that it's crazy talk. I'm 20, i paid my truck off, paid my bike off, and own my own house without having any help from my mother or father. I also work two jobs to do that going from 4 in the morning to 10 at night, but it is plenty worth it. Now i'm not trying to gloat about myself there, but just trying to prove the point that it isnt all young kids that are lazy and unmotivated, because i know for a fact, i love to get my hands dirty no matter what the task. So before you go ahead and make any statements about todays "youth", think about what you're going to say and realize that it isnt all of todays youth.

 

I'm not sure if any of the disdain is focused in my direction, so I will just repeat what I said earlier and leave it at that. I need to learn to keep my mouth shut.

I have yet to meet a person on this forum that I could put in any stero type.. This is one hell of a group..Any age..

 

Matt, that is awesome. I am sure your parents are very proud. I know if you were my son, I would gloat about you myself.

Good for you being a hard worker and an over achiever. I know there are many more in the world like you.

Dont know how much, if any was directed at me, but here goes

Unfortunately, it happens. Same thing happens as generalization about trucks, generalizations about dodge drivers (haha) etc.

Stereotypes are unfair, unfortunately have some shred of truth to them too.


See ive worked personally with alot of the younger generations out where hard physical work is a must. The hard work ethic just isnt there by MOST of your generation. (In my own experience) My own two eyes have shown me, that this generation stereotype has lots of truth to it, far from crazy. (theres always exceptions though for sure)

Sounds like your doing well for yourself. I was in a similar situation at your age, except the house part. I chose to save my cash up for a few years and buy a much nicer house then I personally could afford when I was 20. Hind sight I would have did things different, but thats how she goes!

Who ever said all young kids were lazy and unmotivated? Are we trying to read into something that wasnt actually said?? I know more guys in your generation that are lazy and unmotivated, moreso then vica versa.

I can only speak for myself here, and address this, but a few examples on a forum dont make up for the hundreds and hundreds of younger generation people that are the exact opposite of what you are.
Also for the tenth time, who said all?!!!

Id like to see some quotes or something, either some people arent reading through an entire post before getting their panties in a bunch, or Im gonna have to go back and do alot of reading through entire posts to make sure Im reading everything.

I love having good discussions in these forums personally. Gives a nice little twist from the everyday normal stuff. (as long as it stays civil!)
