Haha right, since you had such a good go round over Thanksgiving right? I'm sure this time around it'll be on your terms.
The bro-in-laws family won't be an issue this Christmas...should be a good time!!!!!
No, actually they won't be back anytime soon or ever from what my MIL said, which is fine by me. Funny story, Dave-tinman wrote something about the fiasco on FB, and I have some of the out laws in question friends, so did I delete that fast....it was really funny at the time!
Yes it's a massive amount of hours, which I would tried to handle, but it's the 4 days on and 3 days night shift that kill me. I have insomnia and I can't just sleep when I need to, let alone stay awake for 24+ hours. I'm really really disapointed though, I had it nailed, they would have hired me, but I just can't do those hours. You know the weird part? It's not just the Security department. Even the recepionist has to pull that day / night crap.
I think everyone should just go to 4 / 10's.
Here Here on working 4/10's. I am not but wish I did. I am not sure who thought working days and then nights was a good idea either. I will hold that person down for ya while you give them a few shots to the nads!

Maybe I can get a lot of other stuff done now
I still have not renewed either. Been 2-3 months now. The pop ups are annoying as all get out but still not going to renew for a while anyway.

I get to drive to the NE side of Philly this afternoon. There's a guy with running boards that are for a CR-V, so I'm getting them & will install them for my mom on her CR-V. The factory ones look nicer, but you basically put your foot UNDER the car! OK for most people, but she needs something that, after 'backing' in to the car and getting her bum on the seat, she can put her foot/heel on and use for leverage. The pups like roadtrips, so it's all good. I'll be adding the black grip-tape stuff to the black plastic step areas for added grip in any weather. Or do you think that a Rhino-Line type coating would last better/longer?
Another vote here for the grippy tape.

Hey Mark. How is mom?

A cousin that I grew up with, died suddenly last week.
He came out of his office, told his wife to call 911 because he was having a heart attack, then fell over dead.
Just like that he was gone.
No suffering to be sure, but what a surprise.
This is the third relative of mine that has gone that way in the last ten years and there is prior family history similar to that.
.
When all this is said and done, I'm going to the Dr. to make sure of things for myself.
Sorry to hear this Dan. Definitely take care of yourself.
I used to work 4-12 hr nights, 36 hours off 4-12 hour days then 4 days off...it would repeat after the 4 days off. Wasn't too bad most of the time, I knew when I was working weeks in advance and just planned things around my work. I just hated being cooped up in a building all the time, so I changed careers. Looking back...maybe that wasn't the wisest of ideas; but then it made since. Oh well
Some men don't have a problem with it. I had to turn down a good job back in Texas because I knew I couldn't adjust to the day and night stuff. The thing is, this place wanted me to work 7 / 12's straight from day to night. That means at least one day I would be up for 24 hours. I just can't do that crap. I tried that when I was a little younger doing shift work for a paper place and it about killed me. I'd sleep while I was driving and everything. Like I said some men have no problem with it, but others like me just can't adjust to the day and night stuff. If it was long term it would be different, I could do 6 months day, 6 night, like some places.
Oh well!
Good morning everyone!!! I hope you all have a great day. God bless and drive safe. Bunch of nuts out there this time of year.

haha! thanks for the laugh!! have a good day man!!
Morning everyone, Actually warmed up to a "warm" minus 18C (0F for you fahrenheit or as i like to say F'ers!) SO I might actuallt be able to get a few things done outside today!
Dan, sorry to hear about your cousin. It really sucks when someone goes so suddenly.

Good grief. You mean to tell me its warmer in SK, Canada than it is here right now? That is wrong on so many levels.

I didn't want that to sound disrespectful, just I guess I was fortunate there was a Federal law that prohibited me from working more than 12 hours on...and I had to have 10 hours off between shifts.
Top of the morning ya'll...going to be a warm one today; all the way up to 47F...was only 27F this morning while scraping frost off the windshield of the trucks.
Hey Lis, is that a mirror in your pocket? Cause I can see myself in your pants haha
Nope, no mirror..I'm just happy to see you.

It is. Besides, Sheldon doesn't need to talk..he can just stand there as far as I am concerned. haha.
As far as our weather being colder..its funny when I watch the news and they show the weather map, there's always this big glob of cold/moisture that goes throgh the Montana and the Dakotas and drops right down into Eastern Iowa, missing everyone else. Sometimes it looks like a finger...like a middle finger..as in F you, Iowa, freeze!
Also, we've still got a lot of snow on the ground. Snow cools things down considerably...and we've been getting some type of cold front in from the North, must be missing Sheldon somehow. Cedar Rapids is a wet place, and when you combine that with arctic temps..well..yeah.
Our weather can be funny up here. Like no more then a few days ago, it was minus 35-38 without the winds, and today minus 18 with no wind, really nice day out, you should see all the wildlife moving.
Considering I live in the great white north too, its not so white out yet either, I would say we maybe have an inch IF that of snow, doesnt even fully cover the ground.
Good morning everyone.
Going back a few days here, but Lisa Im glad you said stick built shop or I wouldnt be able to help. I'm a stick built framer, no pole buildings here. Well, I can do them, but they arent my cup of tea. I talked to Julie about the Colorado idea and the possibility of a huge G2G, and she was 100% all for it. Cool wife huh?
I know Im missing a lot but Im running out the door, my best pick up line ever, is quite boring. However, that being said, it has 100% success rate...ready???
