Busy day today for me... I get to go shoe shopping. Yep. The ones I wore to work the other day gave me a lovely blister on the back of my heel... to heck with that crap! Hopefully an outlet store will have something good at a decent price....
So, my nephew turns 6 next weekend..I'll be there for his birthday which will be nice.
I just bought him this:
Electric rails, HO scale, comes with a locomotive, fuel car, hopper, coal car and caboose and electric tracks that make a 38" wide circle. Hope he likes it. I have a history of giving the "best" gifts but dang if this expectation doesn't wear me out when it comes to birthdays and Christmas...starting to run out of ideas.
i got one that looks just like that one... actually 2 really....
Is it cool? This set was rated pretty good, per the customer comments anyway. If he likes it, its HO scale so it'll be easy to add cars, locomotives and tracks to that set for future birthdays/Christmas.

You can buy HO scale Iowa Interstate locomotives at the local hobby shop here, but they're expensive. $120 !!!
Well for those who arent on FB, here's some pics of my recent excursion to Portland Oregon. I drove down to hang out with my best friend from school and meet some of his firefighter buddies. The guys I met were truly awesome, and I felt right at home in minutes. They were all diesel heads...
We did a bit of wrenchin on my buddies 7.3, cleaned up the engine and re-torqued the injectors. ( I may add I am a pro at that now). Lets just say a bottle of tequila and a wrench will make me pull the valve covers 3 times, since my vision was so blurred I couldnt see the VC harness was unplugged...lmao It didnt run very well on 4 cylinders...
We didnt have as much snow as we would have liked but enough for me to play on the snowmobile. We did a little dirt biking, some sledding, a bit of shooting and then a day of movies and rest...All in all, a great trip.
Hope you guys like these...
These were being demo'd on the trails, but we didnt get a chance to play...
I liked this one since its a Makita...lol Thats cool that Suzuki and Makita are hooked up...
3 of the sleds looked exactly like this...Amazing machines. More power than I knew how to deal with. What a great time. I'll be heading back down in a few weeks to play with some more snow.
