Lightning vs. Corvette
Hmmm, maybe the reason mr, nitrous & supercharger hasn't been seen around lately, is becuase he probably hit the nitrous right after that "whipple" charger kicked in.
Right now he's probably half way to the moon, still holding on to the steering wheel from what used to be his "hipo-impala"

1988 F-150, SWB, 5.0 EFI (formerly 4.9 EFI), M5OD 5 speed, 3.08 gears, Summit shorty truck headers, Custom built Flowmaster exhaust system. Force 4 LP6000 lightbar, Federal signal PA-300 100 watt siren, Icom IC-V100 50 watt mobile radio.

Or maybe the Lightning driver was just too quick at the throttle for him. I have no idea if the Lightning was stock or not. I only know the guy stomped the Camaro in the ground.
Should have used "later" model instead of "late" model. Because
I know that somewhere in the later years the suspension was r&r'd
to be as or simulative of the ZR-1 or ZO-6 or whatever the hell
it is. Around the same time the Firehawk(?) came out. I don't
keep up with GM's crap so i'm not positive on the stats.

Drivers make a big difference in the F-bods. I've seen a stock M6 LS1 Z-28 run a 13.0@107, but I've seen plenty of them run mid 14s too. So, with that in mind, and having done it myself, a Gen 2 Lightning can certainly outrun an F-body, even an SS, once the driver is factored in.

Thier not biased,fords just suck so bad it seems that way to people that don't have the common sense to own a chevrolet.No one would belive a lightning could run with a vette,not even a modified lightning.Now i'm not saying the lightnings aren't fast,they're extremly fast,but were talking about a vette.I owned an 96 vette and its nowere near as fast as a c-5,but it would take any but the most higly modified lightnings.On its worst day 13.80's were common.I raced many times at houston raceway park to see exactly what I coud run,and I know why you ford people get so upset,if I got outran as often as you ford folks do I would be upset too.

3 I have a friend who thought he was smart and bought 7 Chevrolets for his AC business and all been in the shop min. 4 times, as of today, one has been 9 times<- this number will change.
4 GM produces nothing but junk, transmissions definitely
5 Someone needs to blow money, why not you?
So brag as you may, but comparing chevy to Ford is like comparing Diamonds to crystal?

ROFL! Here we go with another Chevy boy and their bizarre logic - comparing a truck to a sports car.
First, Chevy Boy, that 14.3 is pretty pathetic. My stock 2000 truck ran 13.60s. Stock 2001s run 13.40s. Granted that's not enough to unseat a Z06, but how about we compare it to ANY Chevy truck? Eh? Awwww... so sad, you lose.
How about we compare a stock Lightning to a stock Impala SS? Oooo, that would be scary for you, huh SS-boy? The Impala SS couldn't match a Gen 1 Lightning in ANY measure of performance, to say nothing of a Gen 2.
Shame shame shame, a truck putting the smack on a car - granted, it's just a glorified taxi, but still... It's a car!

first of all son, you've never seen a such a heavily modified impala as mine. what do you think about a whipple supercharger, edlebrock headers, borla exhaust, 180 hp nos,high-performance computer chip, XGT-Z michelin radial rubbers, a 2 in. body drop, and AS MUCH WEIGHT AS A LIGHTNING, but pushing 500 horse, i can eat a 1/4 mile in 12.64 and any lightning you wanna throw at me and got the timeslip to prove it. oh by the way i was riding with my friend in his trans am firehawawk, and we just happened to see a lightning on the interstate and just happened to blow him away at 150 while the poor lightning was geared so low at 140. winner-trans am! (darnit, chevs(or pontiacs, the same company) just seem to win every time don't they!?) ok, i will say one thing though, the lighning is a nice truck and is fast, but just can't hang with superior sports cars from g.m.

with the hipo package and ZR-1 suspension. Saw that in person,
3 times. The Lightning wasted it.
Mr. Imputant SS needs to go lay down somewhere(Impala).

I am in total agreeence with you, becasue when i went to look at the 2001 Lightning becasue that is my dream truck and when i get outta basic traing for the air force it is wha i am going to be driving. but anyway the sales guy started telling me about how some guy bought a brand new corvette and took it back becasue it got beat by a lightning and went there to buy one instead of his corvette. i love what ford has done to their trucks all even the std f-150's they are by far the nicest trucks but none compare to the lighning.
