Wow -- y'all have been busy over night! I took some Flexeril and lots of ibuprofen and crashed out. I'm pretty sure that's the same stuff you mentioned, Tristan.
To the new guy (Tri-Power I think it is?), if you tow, hold out for the 7.3. You'll really appreciate the fuel savings, and I'm seeing diesel going below gas again soon. I'm already seeing gas at $1.70-1.85, and diesel is actually going down quickly here. It was right at $2.00 all last week out where I test regularly, then it suddenly dropped to $1.85!! I hope that trend keeps happening!! I just paid $2.11 here, and it's going down, so I'm hoping to see those same prices here soon!!
But I digress -- I'm not sure who said we don't push the towing capabilities of these vehicles, but I've heard of folks pulling 20k+ regularly. That's close to 30k GVW, well over the rated numbers. It WILL pull those loads easily, but the issue is stopping it. I doubt your toy-hauler will be that heavy, but if you're looking at 10k range, get the 7.3 without a doubt. The fuel savings will make it worth it. My brother had a V10, and he ditched it pretty quickly because of the crappy mileage. It got around 10-12 EMPTY. Ours gets that TOWING!! You're looking at about 8 MPG towing with the V10, and if you get 4.10 gears in the rear-end, the mileage will REALLY SUCK!! The 7.3 is a pulling machine, with more torque than anything else Ford sells, especially chipped. I've made some big changes to mine recently, and I was at just under 700 ft-lbs before (at the wheels). I believe I'm at 700 now, and with the injector change coming up, I hope to be over 750. The V10 is around 335HP/400Tq (at the flywheel), IIRC, and you'll EASILY get over the HP with some simple mods, and are already over the Tq numbers stock. That being said, the V10 is an okay motor, but if you want to put it up against the 7.3 towing, then the 7.3 wins every time.
Just got some funny news! I get to go pull a chebby blazer for a buddy this evening! Ha ha ha! He's one of the ones that likes to give me a hard time about my truck. Dads gonna be busy with the roll back so I'm going to put it on the dolly. Its a 01 and he's had quite a few problems with it. Sounds like its got something wrong with a valve or a lifter. Its gonna look good behind my Ford!

Smoking ban on the other hand is going to kill business here, especially with Phillip Morris(Altria) HQed here in Richmond...
VA doesnt differentiate between a restaurant and bars so it hurts everyone unless you can fork over the money to have a seperate ventilation system, room, and entrance for people that do or dont smoke...
Sorry for the rant...I know a few local business owners that might go outta business because of that ban...
Fla and Ga have the smoking ban also.In this area a lot of restaraunts and bars went belly up because of it.
I smoke and don't like restaraunts and don't go to bars so it gives me a good excuse
If I must go to a restaraunt I wait til I'm in NC they are still a free state

MA is the same way. They enacted the smoking ban and the bars and nightclubs were dead. Most people went RI to go out. It is only a 20 minute drive from here. RI instituted the smoking ban also so things have kinda leveled out.

Here in MA cigs are close to $6 a pack. They are raising the fuel tax again. That's why it's called Taxachusetts!!!!
I don't buy fuel in NC I'll make sure that I have enough to go right on through.
I actually like the no smoking in restaurants and bars. When those laws came into effect here alot of people cried that their business's where going to get shut down and slow down and whatnot, but that never happened. The smokers just smoke outside now (always RIGHT next to the damn doors too!) and everything is peachy.
Well except now they implemented a law where smokers cant stand right next to the doorway, cause they were starting to block up entrances, and exits quite abit.
Smokers will still eat, and drink, and go places they cant smoke, it benefits us non smokers, people that own the establishment(smoke smell=disgusting), and even the smokers (ive heard of people quitting and slowing down, because they were getting fed up of always going outside).
I agree, I love being able to go somewhere and not get smoked out.
Randy and I went to a few bars the last time we were in Nebraska, I guess Fremont has no smoking ban. My eyes watered like crazy the smoke was so thick. I don't even want to think of how much crap I breathed in that night. I came home stinking so bad like an ashtray, I had to take a serious shower and put my coat outside for two days because it was stinking up the house.
While I have no problem with smokers doing whatever they need to do, its their right..people who don't smoke have the right to not have to sit in it.
I must say, I had been to a few restaurants that allowed smoking at the bar, and has proper ventilation, and it never bothered me.
I'm not a religious person at all, but if you could send some good thoughts out for my Dad, I'd really appreciate it. About 2 years ago he had a stroke that slowed him down a bit and affected his short-term memory. All was good until Saturday evening... long story short, he had a seizure and another stroke and is currently in a coma in the ICU at University of Maryland Hospital. We have to wait a couple days to see how it works out, and I know just how tough that man is, but ..... anyway, I'm not normally one to share something like this, but I need to get it out, and any good mojo would be so incredibly appreciated.
