Well yall have to deal with sick kids i got a sick horse! Lizzie our 2300lbs Percheron mare coliced yesterday... Im sitting hear at the barn in the poring rain on my day off watching her. Hoping she poops.

Equine Colic: Horses don't "throw up" so when they eat and it becomes stuck, they have no way of getting rid of it except to pass it through. There are 100's of reasons why this happens.

Treatment: We sedated her and put a tube down her throat and gave her over a gallon of corn oil to help lube things up and pass the blockage. It takes 12 hours for the corn oil to get through her system. If the blockage dose not move within 24 hours it will become infected and release toxins into her body. At about 15 to 20 hours after the first does of oil we will give her more oil to avoid abdominal surgery to remove the blockage...

Notes: When a horse colics it is important to make sure that they DO NOT lay down and roll over. A horses stomach is held in place by ligaments and if the horse rolls over with a blockage in there they can get what called twisted gut. Twisted gut is exactly what it sounds like. The stomach will more or less flip over in her abdominal and then surgery will be necessary.

i will be here all day so if you have any questions just ask! LOL

Thanks Jay and Lisa-

Brent- It is not common at all. And can be lethal. Its the most common reason for pre-mature death in horses. But thats mainly because most people don't know the signs of it and don't catch it in time. We on the other hand have a very good team of people and my boss is a certified vet tech teacher through UC Davis. So she's in the best of hands... She has pooped a total of 3 times since we first induced the oil, but we are not out of the woods until about 5 or 6. And we have to worry about her becoming dehydrated. After 6 poops and some water intake we can feed her a small amount of hay and wait for that to pass "normally"

Good morning every one! Been up since 4 am working in the rain on the Toy Hauler. Was looking at something last night and graped a U bolt that holds the axle to the leaf springs and it was LOOSE! I went around to every axle the 12 U bolts are loose So now I am taking them all off to paint it and then back on they go!

Nolan hope your horse gets better soon

I used to play paintball professionally for a Line SI factory team, Constant Pursuit, out of Vallejo, CA. We travelled around the country and played for money, and won quite a bit too. If you Google Constant Pursuit and paintball together we will come up. I still have tons of the gear. It's a little outdated now as technology has really advanced the game from when I played, but back then everything we had was top of the line hot stuff. I miss that game a lot.

Here's a little bit about our captain, Fred Schultz.

A woman is thinking: why did he just throw that book down? Is he mad at me? Did he have a hard day? I wonder if he is stressed at work. Wow I really hope I didn't do anything to upset him.
Simple...is there a word thats more simple than simple?!

I guess simple it good enough though!

Sometimes you have to be blunt, not quite as bad as an azz but 1 stop before that!

Well with all this GM and Chrysler stuff goin on people wont be buying new, but repairing their cars more and more...so it might be a good idea!

I was thinking the same as Scott. Just take her, but I saw you already have another girl in mind. Better hurry up and ask the other girl before she gets snatched up! Almost had that happen to me and it wouldve sucked.

We have one of those down here. I havent been in 2 years though. Last time I went it was over 100* and the fire trucks there were spraying everyone down with a mist from 4 trucks. Gotta love the wet tshirt contest that was born from that one...

Me either, at least "professionally". When they used to sell those Talon pump paintball guns at Walmart we went and bought 2 of them and a crapload of paintballs. Went around the neighborhood and Matt and I shot at each other. No masks, no nothing. Never got a headshot thank goodness. I always got him behind the knee and I know it hurt like hell.
