They changed the code a few years ago due to the motor being run off the ground instead of an insulated nuetral. Now with all the electronics you have to seperate them anyway.
234 Volts? Are you running through a transformer?
Nope. 117/234 nominal, but it gets up over 120/240 sometimes. We have buried utilities, and the transformer for my place is about a 40' run from my meter. Right there where my meter is, my box & house feed is on the wall of my garage, where I have a 30A outlet fed with about 2' of Romex. There I was getting 123/246 early in the morning before everyone wakes up and starts coffee pots, water heaters taking showers, stoves/oven for breakfast, etc, etc... LOL.....
woman riding on a double bike with her b/f behind...she waves to someone and she has nearly 20 inch long underarm hair,,,and she says "you think this is wrong?"

I'm suprised Here we have 110/220 nominal. with the transformer so close to your house there must be a minimal voltage drop.

Where the house in MA is it is on a private road and the lines have to come from the main road. They are supposed to be changing the xfmr at some point in time. So it runs a bit on the low side.
