First, do you have a built-in wireless deal in a laptop or are you a PCMCIA card, or better yet, a desktop? I'm running a desktop and the wireless card has connectors right on it so it's easy to connect to. This is similar to the one I use:

I have a D-Link switch that interfaces with my Fiber Modem, but I've never messed with the D-Link router. I do have a D-Link PCMCIA WLAN card for one of my laptops, and both are super easy to tinker with, so I would think that the router is easy as well.
