Well I finally did it. I'm caught up now (except there will probably be several more posts by the time I finish typing this).
I had the biggest scare I've had in a long time tonight. We got a couple of dogs last weekend from the pound since our dog is around 16 or 17 now. We were hoping the dog could show the new ones the ropes (where to go/not go, when to bark, what to chase off, etc.), but since they're new, we've been locking them up in a pen at night so they don't wander off. All's been well except for one cat that doesn't care for the new dogs. We haven't seen him/her around much (no I don't know which it is, or even it's name).
Well tonight my wife noticed a car on our road driving real slow, then stop and turn off the headlights. This is a country road with no houses in the area the car stopped, so it was a cause for concern. I walked outside to drive down there and investigate. As I got outside, the lights came back on and the car drove off. Turned out to be a neighbor's truck down the road, so no big deal.
In the moonlight I saw the black cat that has made itself so scarce these last few days standing about 20' from me. I walked toward it, and it walked toward me. It wasn't until I was about 2' from it and bending down that I realized the little black cat was actually a skunk.
I'm happy to announce that I can still move pretty quick, and I'm not currently in need of a shower. I will admit I'm having second thoughts about keeping the new dogs penned up at night.
Brent, sweet towboat. We had a Mastercraft Prostar 190 back in the 80s that I grew up skiing and competing behind. Slalom, barefoot, tricks and Jumps. Thats all we had back then. The original Hydroslide had just been released,(mine was blue), and the precursor to wakeboarding was the Skurfer (mine was white). No fat sacs for wakes, we used cinder blocks. No towers, or Skylons. Overtons and Barts were the catalogue of choice, and Camille Duvall was HOT. I trained at Sammy Duvalls place in Winterhaven FL one spring break, and that was the best spring break of my life. 7am glass rides, eat brkfast about 830, go back and skii till noon, lunch, ski till dark, then fall out in the rack. I blew my knees out playing football, and that ended my waterskiing. I had high hopes of getting a scholarship to USF in Coral Gables FL, for 3 event skiing.
Wow, sorry to hear about that. Probably worked out for the better, you seem to be doing great in life right about now.

Get a Snap on. I've twisted the drive in a Craftsman using a cheater, and a Snap on will bend like a bow under a lot of torque, but the drive part will not twist or break.

Damn, if I am ever in Washington we will have to go to the lake and see if I can make a huge *** out of myself on the water. How hard is it on the knee's? I have already had a tune up with an alignment on my right knee, don't really want to do that again.
If you have never been to Washington, you are missing IMO the most varied state in the Union. From rain forest, to mountains, to rock and sand desert, and anything in between, we have it here.

Yeah it gets cold, but the humidity is so low that you can put a jacket on and that is all you need. I love that sort of climate.

I get heat from Kriss whenever I get a fever because of my behavior.
Fortunately that only happens once a decade.
I've very fortunate to have a strong immune system.
Also no more mice the past few days, traps havent even been licked. The tally stopped at 10 total - 2 adults, a male and female, and 8 babies.
Good job kid, sounds like you wiped out the entire family. You should be proud of yourself. Most women I've known in my life would not even buy a mouse trap let alone use it.
Ray, I sympathize. You've at least slowed down the work these days right?
.
yea was finnaly put out of comission 10 yrs ago after 2 accidents and 2 spinal surgeries (got straps and screws holdng my head on ) now I can only try to pick up odd jobs to suplement SS

I'm not sure I fit in the "most women" category very often.
I'm just glad it's over. It was freaking me out having those little critters in my house.

Well Ray, I'm sorry to hear about that. But I can tell your wit is still at 100% capacity. If you lived closer, I'd call on ya now and again. The right tools never compare to experience/knowledge. Sometimes I am trying to fix something or rebuild something and I just stand there and scratch my head and try to think "What would my dad tell me to do?"
