LOL! Flatlander? Who ya callin a flatlander? Every place I have ever hunted is 8,500 ft above sea level or more. I'm not what you would call a long distance shooter, especially not with a muzzleloader. Maybe with my 7mm mag, which is against the rules in Iowa. D'Oh. Watched my tag a deer one time and drop her in her tracks at 500 yards, but he was a natural shooter and had a true instinct for windage.
The very definition of a sabot describes it as raising the muzzle velocity of a projectile. Sabots, from what I understand, simulate rifling by keeping the round centered in the barrel, thus effecting distance/accuracy. Also sabots are a thinner bullet, and generally thinner round = better velocity, than a standard .50 cal round. Take what I have to say with a grain of salt. Never even fired a sabot...this is all just what I have been reading.
The cornfield hunting will be a whole new ballgame for me...but learning something new is always fun.
The bullets in the sabots I shoot are .45 caliber. Hunting a good stand of corn is fun.
In my house the outlets that are wired to the switch are put in with the ground up. When we first moved in I had no idea why one outlet in each room was "upside down", figured the guy was half in the bag when he installed them. LOL. Took me about 2 months to figure out why the "upside down" ones were that way. I had never seen it done that way until this house. My dad is also an electrician, has been since the late 70's, he said that here in Az as far as he knows the code doesn't say one way or the other is the right way.
I've installed a few in my life and have let which way the round pin goes be decided by which side of the box the black or white wires happened to be closest to at whatever box I was doing at that time. I never heard of a code for it. Course I am a carpenter, not an electrician. I just do chit for people when asked.
The NEC dosen't specify either ground up or ground down in residential applications. But there is a provision in the code that states "or up to the authority having jurisdiction" meaning that the local wiring inspector can require you to install them per his\her preference.
Lisa if you want I can walk you through some of the stuff, safely, on your list. If your comfortable with that.
Tonight will be a good night. I will be at Gillette Stadium watching the NE Patriots play the Denver Broncos. One of my commercial customers has season tickets and I was offered the chance to go.

Gesh, it seems a bit rediculous that I have to go around and flop electrical outlets because some inspector prefers it that way. Jim, honestly I'm not interested in doing any of this stuff myself...I am uncomfortable with electrical work..However, if I send you the list/pictures of the things they are asking for (per the inspector) can you give me a round price of what these repairs/changes should cost me without getting bit in the butt?
Good morning!
Hey Dan, I was in Kenmore/Bothell yesterday and my wife took me to the Ranch Drive in? I think that was it. Man they got some good burgers!
I'll have to try them out some time. Thanks for the tip.
He just came up here and told me I lied to him..among other things.
Any of you who aren't familar with the story - he found out my house was for sale and iterrogated me about it so I fessed and told him my plans of moving to Iowa, hoping he would understand the particulars of my situation.
He is currently giving my resignation to the entire company at a meeting I am not even invited to.
Fun day. Don't even have a closing date on my house yet.

Sounds like he's terrified because of you leaving. He's afraid that people will see that it was YOU that made him look good and now he will be on his own, left to flounder. To counteract that fear, he wants to make you look like the bad guy and deflect people's attention away from him. Instead, what he should be doing is working with you to ensure a smooth transistion once you leave. He cannot see it that way though because of his inadequacies as a manager.

Yep exactly what I was thinking. He is being very dumb about all of this. He is making me want to shake this place as soon as possible, instead of making me want to properly train my replacement and leave this place on good terms.
Guaranteed he will not have me in on any of the interviews for my replacement, which would be the worst decision yet. They will hire someone without the skills necessary, and this position will flounder, and the company as a whole will suffer.
This is not how I had imagined any of this would go. I wanted to give my notice when I was ready, and I wanted to talk to the sales staff one-on-one about the different concerns they had and explain to them MYSELF my reasons for moving on. Instead, Lord knows what he is telling them down there.
So now I have to sit here and TRY to do my job, while being talked at like I am some sort of lying, thieving idiot.
You could always send out one of those "goodbye" emails to all the people you want to notify yourself, counteracting his dumb grandstanding. It sucks to do that over email, but you could always put something in there along the lines of "Due to the ongoing workload, this was the most effective way to communicate to you...". A clear euphemism for what you really want to say...
F_ _ k em If ya want my advice, flip him the bird everytime ya see him, and as soon as ya find out the closing date on your house, leave work that day. Sounds like getting a good reference from him might not be in order anyways. If training someone else isnt in your job desciption dont do it. Time to follow the book and do the least amount of work possible. Two can play that game, and if you play it right, you even have workers rights (or whatever they call it in your area) on your side.
I also know you dont really wanna do some electrical work Lisa, but it really is very simple. The shocks dont hurt that bad either!! Plus you really do save some cash! In the end its up to you, but I thought Id throw out a little encouragement anyways

They all know how he really is. I am not super concerned about anyone changing their opinion of me based on any of this. He is an egotistical baboon, they all know it.
Guaranteed anytime I get up to walk to the bathroom or get coffee I'll have one of them following me around wanting answers/details.
We have another gal leaving, our interior designer. Super cool lady. Only difference is, he has enough respect for her to let her give her own damn resignation.
I refuse to play his games. I have not gotten personal with him, or emotional, and I know that is exactly what he is pushing for. He wants to see me cry. I don't see why else you would purposefully be so awful to an employee that has served you well.

Well when I was first hired on here, I actually came to work for his daughter..who is a super sweet person and was a very good boss. I never wanted to work for that man and it just sort of happened by default. I would not go to him for a reference, I'll just call her and discuss the current situation, guaranteed I'll have a top notch reference. I still have to think about getting my mortgage paid for November, if pending closing is on November 20th..than I might just leave here a bit early especially if I am being treated bady. I am not a glutten for punishment.
And I was just reading back, the outlets make sense now!
Im a first year electrician, and couldnt by the life of me figure out how a person could get a light socket installed upside down!

Yeah sorry about that. I have called them light sockets since I was a kid, I know its not the correct term. lol.
I know I can save some $. Electrical stuff freaks me out. Dunno why, I have always been inadequate with it. There are some breakers that need replaced and I am for sure definitely positively not ok with doing that part..
