This one may get deleted but I will chance it anyway. Lisa's bums in the bathrooms remark brings this memory back to me. At a restaurant on I-95 at the SC/NC border, maybe SC/GA is a joint called South of The Border. It of course has a Mexican theme and has been there as long as I can remember. It was probably in '67 and about 3 in the morning and I left a fruit bloody and beaten as he could be without being dead. All because he could not keep his fruity hands to himself while we were standing side by side at the urinals. I also made him give me every dime he had to his name or I was going to call the cops on him. I guess years of having to put up with them in California where they are a protected species caused me to react in the manner I did.
You know, I kinda lost interest in NHRA Pro Stock when Glidden threw in the towel. If only Ford had gotten behind him like they should have it would have stayed interesting.
But Glidden owned everyone at the track with minimal sponsorship help.
Just waiting for that first heavy tree-branch breaking snowstorm though...
Heck YEAH!!! I want it!!! Fall??? In CO?? yeah, y'all need to go out East sometime and really check out the fall season. Driving down I-95 through the Smokey Mountains on an early October morning, you come up over a ridge and they're laid out before you.... morning mist in the valleys, the sun barely up, and the colors.. and the sheer number of trees.... Fall is a stillborn season here in CO. I live here voluntarily (for now) and every place has its 'thing'.... but Fall is best back East. Out here, we get killer amounts of snow and have great ski resorts. I'll stay for a bit more... maybe...
Dirty people are nasty, but even after 4 days back in the woods, I'll still hug my girl (and then some!!)
So is fall starting to show itself where any of you live?
Yup we're getting some of the signs here now. A lot of the trees are strating to change color and the greenery in the woods behind my house is starting to die off, andI'm pulling more damn acorns out of my fish pond. It looks like the net is going on early this year. It seems to be a bit on the early side if you ask me.
Oh yes, that's been the big joke all last weekend - that the snow's a comin'.
I just love taking the kids out for trick or treats with their snowsuits on.
lol. Yeah believe it or not, the Halloween snow has actually gotten better over the years. I remember being 5 or 6-years-old and I had a broken heart because we couldn't go out trick or treatin that year..there was about 2 foot of snow outside. I think my dad carried me to a couple of houses for candy but we had to go home because it was too cold outside.
Granted its usually crappy on Halloween but it hasn't snowed like that for a good decade at least.
This talk of halloween reminded me of when I was younger. I had older cousins that lived in a more populated area and I would always go their house. We would hide behind their house and wait for kids to come knock on the door. As they would leave we run out from behind the house and scare the hell out of them. Goodtimes! It would **** a few people off but we didnt care.
Lotsa fall in North Carolina. Way too many leaves to rake. Growing up in California (Santa Clara Valley) I don't remember raking leaves there either. I do know for sure I had never even heard of a snow shovel. It's getting down into the 40's here later in the week and the leaves are starting to fall already. Jeez I hate leaves. Don't like pine cones either. My favorite landscape style is found in AZ.
