The carry permits have to be renewed annually. That's a pain but at least we get them in my county. Probably most rural counties give them out, it is just the liberal cities that are paranoid. You can still own a handgun and carry it unloaded in a case in your vehicle, just can't carry it concealed on your person.

I know I'm being a big grump about this. Like I told Leo, you just get used to things being a certain way and it's hard to adapt to change, especially when its a law that impacts something that is an intrigal part of who you are.

I realize I could look this up on a map but i'm lazy. The town of Lisbon, is in a green county, right? Also am I to understand that, if you reside in a green county and are granted a CCw permit, you can still carry into a red county? They can't stop you from carrying over into those counties?

Lisbon is in Linn county which is a RED county. Dang!

Correct. The county issues the permit but it is valid statewide.

Mark, I'm really glad to hear that you're keeping the habit kicked. Keep it up, my friend.

I read you had fun at the races this weekend.

What are you doing hanging around here, I thought you had to be on the road all day. Rain delay?

Lisa, talked to the person who issues the concealed weapons permits in Linn County. She said that to have a permit to carry a handgun to protect small dogs from varmints while living in the country (my story for why the permit is wanted) is considered "personal protection" and the sheriff won't issue a permit for that. To use "personal protection" as justification for having a concealed weapons permit won't fly. Carrying large sums of money does. Interesting what is more important in Linn County.

Sup everyone?

Today has been one of those days that I don't like being the boss. Had to do my first firing this morning. While I didn't like having to walk the guy out, I know that it's for the best. He would have ended up hurting himself of someone else if he had been allowed to stay. He liked to take chances and had been warned several times.

Along with that, I have to deal with a bunch of bonehead mistakes that were made over the weekend that resulted in scrap, damaged equipment and lost time. I guess I shouldn't take weekends off.

Anyway, enough of my rant. How are all of y'all?

Thanks for checking into that for me Mark. There is obviously some political stuff going on. dangit. I really liked the Mt. Vernon area.

Scott, being the boss has advantages and disadvantages. Thats why you make the big bucks. Sounds like you're handling it well though.

Morning, Scott. You know that if you stay around here long enough, the conversation will take your mind off of work. Sounds like you handled the situation for the better of everyone. It might take a while of you being in charge before the workers understand what you expect from them. And this firing will help get their attention.

I've had to hire people before, but I've never had to fire anyone. I bet it's awful.

Sorry Scott. Wanna talk about guns instead?
