i dont know how any one could stand wearing their pants halfway down their a$$ i never leave my house without a belt. i need a belt to hold important things like my leatherman and my cellphone on a hip holster.
Same here. Between my cell phone, gerber multi tool, gerber knife, and keys, I need a belt to keep em up. When I'm at work, I add another cell to that and a bunch of keys that weigh 1 lb. Undo your belt to take a leak and your pants fall down
Gonna make a big change of subject here. I've been a smoker for nearly 48 years. Did not start until I went in the Marines and found out I was the only non smoker in the recruit platoon of 90 young men. Dumbest thing I've ever done. I have 2 cigarettes left as of right now. Hopefully they will be my last forever. Please keep your fingers crossed for my success. Stopping the beer is a piece of cake, smoking is another kettle of fish entirely.
Mark, I wish you the best of luck and hope you can kick the habit. Both of my parents smoked when I was growing up. They divorced when I was 3 and I lived with Mom. I got her to stop when I was very young, but I don't remember it. Mom tell me I used to say to her, "Mommy, I don't want you to die" when she would smoke and that those were some pretty powerful words coming from her only child, so she quit. I also got my stepdad to quit when I was in highschool, and he was very glad I got him to stop. He said he could taste things he hadn't tasted before, felt better, and was actually overall happier.
However, I could never get my dad to quit. I urged him to quit, but without me around since I didn't live with him, he didn't have much support or encouragement and failed many times to quit. It finally caught up to him and I lost my father to lung cancer in 2002, when I was only 22. It was a tough time, as we only had 6 monts from diagnosis till he was gone. I miss him very much and have a lot of regrets for not being able to spend more time with him while I was in school.
Anyway, I sure hope you can quit. I probably have a skewed perception of it, but I'm all for helping anyone try to quit.

I completely agree. I had talked to both of them many times on the phone and had met Jody before but to finally be able to meet Diane at Smokin last year was great. Both of them are great people.
Damn... I just can't keep up!!! Ummmmmm.... Good luck on quiting smoking. Any guy that thinks he has the upper hand when dating someones daughter is an idiot. Dianes a good person. And texting is for people that can;t communicate!
P.S I smoke, I've stood up to gf's dads, Never met/talk to diane, and i text!
I was lucky. My daughter pretty much had only one boyfriend through her junior high and high school years and she is now married to him. I liked him the whole time but didn't let him know until very recently. There were a couple of boys that used to come around hoping for a chance with her that I ran off though.
I've always told Cody, all boys are rotten except for Dad and Grandpa.
I am free pretty much any weekend. I'm "on call" every third weekend in a rotation , but that is not usually a problem. Get the place and time set, and I'll be there!

Well I deliberately stayed up late last night and smoked (hopefully) my last cigarette and cleaned and put my 2 ashtrays away. Still automatically reaching for the pack every time I pick up the coffee cup though. That may last for months. I once quit for 3 months about 15 years ago and went from 187 to 217, did not like being fat so used that as an excuse to go back to smoking. That won't work this time though as I am only starting out at 150 this time.
Going camping with the wife and in-laws at Elkhorn Campground at Frankfort Ky. Camping in 90+ degrees just don't seem like fun. I'll take plenty of beer and water.
Good luck with quiting Mark. My dad smoked for years before I was born and he quit one month after I came along and strated chewing tobacco. He quit three years ago now, cold turkey. I've been chewing and dipping now for longer than I care to say. I think one of these days I might give quiting a try myself. As far as the new 'Tallica, it's gonna take a little getting used to for me(just like ST. Anger). Dont get me wrong though, I still like it and I'm still gonna try to be in the crowd in DC in January.
just came home from the in-laws,we had to break the flue pipe into pieces to get it all out.next weekend will be lowering in the new pipe and welding in the Tee for the stove.
I wore blisters on both hands through my gloves beatting out that flue and worked my @$$ off,but you know all that hard work feels good when somebody tells you thank you and gives you a cold beer and you can sit in the shade and BS and cool off.
There is NO doubt in my mind that you are indeed hardheaded enough to stay quit.
If you need encouragement, just envision some weak kneed liberal ordering you to light up. That should do it.
Best of luck buddy.
<----beer for me. Ginger Ale for you.
Thanx Joe, I just proved to everyone that knows me that I do not have the typical drinking "problem", quiting for me was a simple nothing to it matter. I just did it for economic reasons. I'll drink all the beer anyone is willing to purchase for me. I just ain't gonna buy it anymore.....LOL.....Smoking, so far, 15 hours since the last one and I am reaching for the pack that's not even there anymore all of the time. Hopefully there will be just a few days of this. We shall see.
