Jeremy, your number 2 is 10 times easier to read. With number 1, I probably would have gotten disgusted and quit about halfway through. It is not all that hard to do it right, and you'll make a positive impression on the reader rather than a negative one. Look how long I waited to say something about it. Another huge pet peeve is the failure of so many folks to not understand the simple to understand difference between YOUR and YOU'RE. You completely change the entire meaning of what you are trying to say. The poster leaves it up to the reader to figure out what they are saying and at the same time appear to be poorly educated. Now I did not proofread this, so any mistakes are entirely my negligence.
I guess hardly don't even begin to cover it. I know I aint seen it all, but in my dang near 50 years, I have never seen a JD bicycle. I wonder where in China those are made???
The rain is coming and going here. Gonna go wet a line here directly and try to get some shredding in.
BTW Rick, we went and picked up that trailer for Donna yesterday. She's pretty happy with it. I got a pic of a nice PS with stacks, but my danged laptop won't startup right so I'll have to post it later.
Thats good she likes the trailer. I do need pics of the trailer too.
I been trying to get some shredding done here. Rained almost every day from when you left here.
I can read most posts as long as they aren't run-on sentences. There are a few people on this forum I have a hard time understanding, but Jacob isn't one of them. He still uses periods and such, he usually just doesn't capitalize. What you guys don't understand is that he grew up in a world of computers and IMing and texting. In the world of texting, punctuation is usually forgotten, and most words are abbreviated, and it's socially okay to do so.
I am not making the case that it's okay to forget punctuation and proper spelling, I'm just saying, a lot of these people probably know how to write properly, they are just used to taking the easy way out.
That being said, people who don't take the time to edit their posts and write things properly probably don't get their message across as well to all readers, as Mark mentioned.
We have been getting some good rain. With the sandy soil we need some often. Gotta get the laptop cured for posts....or do I? Let me study that one.
Good to see that Pete has branched out. Hope he makes it Lotto big.
Jacob, don't feel like a target here, but do take to heart that in the real world, and specifically in the business world, grammar AND manners really do matter. If nobody here gave a rats azz about you, we wouldn't be trying to assist you.
thanks joe and everybody trying to help. i guess by next month(or sooner) i will have my grammar back in check thanks to school(damn). im gonna need a new job soon since i was laid off until next year at the fair grounds i probbably made about $500 and i got about 150 gallons of free WVO from working at the fair. please dont suggest working at mcdonalds i would go crazy working there
Don't forget about two/too/to, it's & its, and affect & effect.
There is a carload of examples in the English language that make it maybe the hardest language of all to learn. I could list a lot of them, but why bother. Lisa brought out several good ones. But what really confuses a newbie to the language is how the exact same word can mean several different things depending on the context they're used in. Prune, is a good example, and there are dozens of them. If you don't drink your prune juice tonight you'll be too backed up to be able to prune the roses in the morning......LOL
Mark, my boss is from Greece. He speaks several languages, Greek (obviously), Italian, Spanish, English and some Latin and French.
He says English is the hardest of them all, for all the reasons you specified. Most Latin-based languages have specific rules and usages, and English doesn't really follow those rules.
Sometimes we'll be talking, and he will start laughing uncontrollably. Sometimes a word in English will translate into something really funny in Greek, and he will just lose it.
Apparenly, my name in Greek means 'to sieze" as in, have a siezure and foam at the mouth. Lovely.

Jacob, just how many full time, permanant jobs are there at the County Fair? And did you not post recently that you got "kicked off" of your uncles farm?
Just hang in there, you'll get it all figured out and working in your favor some day.

its all part time at the fair grounds. yes i was kicked off the farm due to an aunt whose name is lisa, and when my aunt is in one of her angry moods(quite often i might add) the greek tranlation for lisa is quite fitting for her. i like working outdoors especially farm work, so that makes it harder to find a job. oh well the $500 should last me until november for diesel fuel
Jeez Lisa, I'm truly impressed. You could write circles around me. But please remember I only made it to the end of football season in my Senior year. Nam sounded like a whole lot more fun. I just knew I would be able to find a new hole to hide in.......See there are two more that mean two entirely different things but are pronounced exactly the same. Are we all a little more clear on our native tongue now? We could always put the wagon tongue on the mule and drag the farmer through his field if no one threw out the things needed to get through the task.
