weed whacking sucks this week i have to clean all of the 5 acres i live on clear of weeds and my weed eater is out of commission. so i need to find my corn knife if i am going to get this done in a day.
Reminds me of the Brad Paisley song...you say a backrub means only a backrub, and you swat my hand when I try...honey, I'm still a guy. .
lol!
You know, it's not our fault you all are so easily overstimulated. I could punch a guy in the arm and he'll still take it as a pass! Heck, a girl doesn't even need to touch a guy, if she looks at him the right way, he's off and runnin' in xxx land.
Brad Paisley songs are always so entertaining. I was playing a few of his albums yesterday while working on the house...I was thinking about Randy and the "You need a man around here" song came on. I was thinking, aww..its been so long since i've seen my beer drinker and channel changer

Gezz Jacob. You're making my work seem like peanuts...5 acres?
In all reality, it will probably be a few months, maybe more. I'm hopeful the house will sell quickly and close quickly, but even then, anyone who has bought a house knows how long a closing can take, with inspections and all of the steps involved.
I suppose I can go out there for a weekend, or he could come out here, but it costs about $400 or more for either one of us to travel...and right now we both need to be saving rather than spending.
I think I'm doing better than he is. He's in a new house, with a new job, in a new city, and he doesn't know anybody. I can tell he's extremely lonely. It's funny you never quite realize how attached you are to somebody until they leave for a while. I dunno how the military wives (or husbands) do it.

i live on 5 acres, 2 acres are taken up by my uncles crops. i probbably have about the same amount of weeds as you maybe more the weeds are by the barn and shed with the right tools i can have it done in an afternoon.

Wow. I had no idea it was going to be that long. Hopefully one of the two of you can make it to see the other one. Or maybe you guys could meet half way or something like that and spend a weekend together.
I can see how it's a little tougher for him. Everything around him is new, with nothing familiar. Poor guy.
I don't know how the military families do it either. My uncle is in the Army, and when he was off to war (Desert Storm) I don't know how she did it. She's a strong woman. Reminds me a lot of my mom.
Closings around here are taking anywhere from 30-45 days now. Some are done a little quicker, but only if everything goes like clockwork.

Ahh! Don't tell me that! My closing only took about two weeks, but that was back last October before the **** hit the financial fan. I hear a person's gotta have pretty bulletproof credit to even qualify for a house these days.

You're right about the credit qualifications too. The ex girlfriend does VA and FHA home loans, as well as a some conventional. She said the lenders have tightened up things quite a bit lately, especially in the wake of several lenders folding, including most of the sub-prime lenders.
Yeah, lenders are asking for huge down payments and your first born for a home loan. A few of my friends were in the Realtor biz for many years but now are working at Home Depot and at the Fed Ex depot to make ends meet. Not much money in selling homes right now. Hopefully, your house will go quickly, Lisa. Most foreclosure homes around me are the cookie cutter variety and no character.
Article about a coworker of mine. His boat was RAN OVER by another boat this past weekend. This happened on the lake near our house that we jet ski in all the time.
I wish they would ban those cigarette boats from the lake. It's too small for them out there and they drive like idiots. I've had one come within 40 or 50 feet of us while on the jet ski and it scared the hell out of me. He snuck up from behind and then turned and washed us with his wake. Too much boat, too little lake, not enough brains operating it.
