If the rest of the place looks like that then Heck Yeah! A friend of mine just bought a place right off of 285 and Sheridan and paid 190K and its a wreck. About the same size and age I would imagine.

Haven't you ever listened to the lyrics to Redneck Woman? lol

Actually its not laziness, I left them up on purpose. I love the way they make my patio look at night, that covered patio you see there wraps around the entire house.

Chris - it was built in 1933, so its sort of an oldie for the neighborhood. Bedrooms are pretty good size for the age of the house. Master bathroom is HUGE (the size of a bedroom) and I had big plans for that bathroom. Id say its probably 1200 to 1300 square feet, not including the basement which is probably about 300 square foot unfinished.

Thanks everyone. It was quite the storm. They are very rare but this is the 2nd one in this area in the past few years. Today we had to rehang 13 services on houses due to the lines coming down. The fun part is that they are all insurance claims so I may get paid by Christmas!!! At least the customers have their power back.

Everyoneshould look into the surge supressors for the main line. Very easy to install and not really expensive. Mine was only $110 my cost. It has saved me many times over.

Lisa good luck with the house sale. At $155K it sounds like a great deal. Mine is on the market for $439K Any takers????????

Yep redid the entire house.

Here are a few more:

The top 3 pics were taken after I finished the floors, before I moved anything in. I hope people aren't too turned off by my wild colors, but I wanted an art-deco style house and these are colors I chose based on my own personal preferences...so if they don't like it, oh well I guess. A few months ago I had no idea I'd be selling.

I'm no realtor but sounds like a good deal given the market, you should be able to sell it off no problem. The price is sure right. Everybody wants to be close to the mountains. I live out east (Smokey Hill/E-470) and wish I was more on the west side. Older trees, larger lots etc.

I guess it depends on what's more important to you: a brand new house, or older houses on mature lots and more accessible to town.

One cool thing is that I am a brisk 5 minute walk from the light rail station that goes to central station or downtown.

I'm crossing my fingers it'll go quickly. I bought for 125K, to the chagrin of the bank that owned it at the time.

Jim, 439K? *gulp* thats almost a half a mil. How big is this house anyhow?

Certainly not that I can tell from the low resolution photos you're able to post here, but I am extremely fussy so I'm not sure you would want me looking at anyones work up close. You'll never hear one shoemaker say anything good about another's work. LOL...I will say I don't care for the white shoe molding, but it's pretty much a matter of individual tastes.

My little sister is like that, but she's never guessed right, not once. She friggin' HATES the way I wrap her presents!!

Very cool. I got lucky and found this house that was built in the early '80's and still has a large lot, big house (for that time period - 2500 sq ft.) and no HOA. All the houses around me are less that 14 years old.

The access to downtown is a feature I would exploit. Your second set of photos show your hard work.

Nice! New houses have absolutely no character, I tell ya. With the housing explosion came cookie cutter houses, and we lost built-ins, cool archways, moulding, and other coolnesses that make houses unique.

Jim, if I could find a way to teleport you out here, I would. I am a retard when it comes to electrical stuff. Do you have any pictures of your place? For 439K i'm interested to see!

Yeah, this place has character all right. Just old enough to be modern but old enough to be dated and needing stuff replaced. I bought it 11 years ago and the PO would never recognize it now. I have a handy man biz on the side and this is my house that I try stuff out before I go out and charge people for "real" work.

Lisa the house is about 2300 sq ft on 4 acres of land. If you have any electrical questions please don't hesitate to ask, I will guide\ walk you through whatever you need. If you do make a teleporter I would be happy to come help you out!!!
