Here's An Example Of The 419 Scammers Letters

This is typical of the kind of stuff that sucked my Dad in. As you can see they're still milking him. He has given them nearly every dime he has and keeps on sending more. This one is really fairly well written. They're getting a little more sophisticated. There are usually a whole lot more spelling errors. Those are not typos, that's how they spell.

Maybe you can get him to research the law firm this "lawyer" works at since a lawyer should be licensed to practice law. Have him write a letter to the non-existent police department, and ask him how many police departments would have a letterhead and make such a statement without leaving a contact phone number.

Maybe part of the problem is you're just a kid who doesn't know anything, and you need to find someone his own age to explain things to him. My wife has a friend (68) whose sister fell for a phone scam, and her kids could not convince her they were stealing her money. He went and explained things to his sister and was able to stop things.

You may not exactly be a spring chicken, but in your dad's eyes, you're still just a kid.

Ammo ammo ammo ammo and more ammo, and dies for just about every caliber you can imagine. and more ammo. And lead, and bullets, brass, patches, powder..and did I mention ammo? And did I mention this stuff is extremely heavy? And did I mention ammo for calibers he doesn't even own, like 9mm mauser?

Well i'm done complaining now.

Susan's mom fell for one of the "Bait and Switch" scams while she was at Wal-Mart a couple of years ago. She was approached by two people that had this check or something that they needed help to cash. They told her that they would cut her in on the deal. I cannot remember the exact specifics but she took them in her car and drove them to a bank and was hanging out with these scumbags before she got nervous and ditched them.

When she got home she told Susan about it who then told me. We sat her down and explained how dangerous that was. She is from Spain and she is in her 70s and is way to trusting of people.

The MG42 parts kit I have is 8MM I think.....but I have ammo like that too.... somewhere in my stash is a few bandoliers of .30 carbine leftover from WW2...The family to my knowledge never has owned one. Most of my stuff is mainstream... but the Dillon 1050 is there for my main user...5.56 MM x 45. Someday I'll get the MG42 together....it will be a fun project to make a die for a new receiver, but I don't really want to spend the dollars on the tax stamp right now...so its just a parts kit.

So i drove a 6.0l today... Picked up a half load of hay with it... Not impressed! It was an automatic so maybe its just cause im use to having a stick shift, but really wasn't worth the $40,000+ the guy had paid for it... Either way Cleaned up my truck I have a date tonight and 3 horses to pick up about 3 hours north of here tomarrow... Just thought I would chime in with what I am up too. Seems kinda slow around here tonight.

Anybody watch the olympics lately? Phelps set a new record with 8 gold medals in one season. Now we've got one of those trauma shows on and some idiot decided to stick his finger inside a shotgun shell press and got it stuck in there. I guess one of the parts had some sharp parts inside a tube, well thats where his finger is stuck. They actually called in the maintenance guys to help get it off.

He will not listen to the FBI, or Scotland Yard. The FBI has been to his Nursing Home numerous times. He refuses to believe anyone but his only friend in the world, the scam artist. I figured it out, he has averaged sending this thief about 26 or 27k a month for the last 26 months. Not by the month but in huge chunks at a time. He tells me to my face that he knows he's been scammed just to shut me up and continues to do it behind my back. He tells my sister and she tells me. She is the one that sent me that bogus letter that he had forwarded to her. He has never received one hard copy of anything. Everything has been done by wire or e-mail. When is the last time amy of you have received an e-mail with a header like the one I posted? Now do you see the stubbornness and stupidity I am dealing with?

If your dad is 90 years old and in a nursing home, why don't you have yourself named as executor of his estate and stop the madness? Clearly he isn't in his right mind....or at the very least it shouldn't be difficult to make it seem so to a judge.

Scott, he already has an executor. Nobody can get him to do anything. Management at the Nursing Home took the plates off of his car, he went around them to the state and got new ones. All of the residents (his peers) have told him he is being scammed and he knows he is right and they are wrong. I am in NC, my sister is in KY and we do not have the money to do anything to stop him. No one will do anything for free for us. He has to agree to sign anything to turn over control of his life and since he is smarter than everyone he knows there is nothing we can do. I threw in the towel myself after that fiasco in Toronto in Sept. 06, but my sister keeps dragging me back into it. It was I that had Scotland Yard call him on the phone and explain to him that there is no lawyer named Richard Bama. The old man will not believe anyone but Bama. Did you Google the name Richard Bama. It comes up in full living color on the Internet that this guy is a Nigerian scammer and my Dad will not even believe that. Here, I Googled it for anyone that cares to look.

There are people that actually run that game back on those scammers. They were on the Dateline show that I watched and I ran into a couple of them here on FTE in the GD forum. Maybe turn them onto this guy.
