I think the "budget" type builds are the most interesting builds anyways.
Ive said it many times, any jackass can write a cheque. It takes a true enthusiast and builder to build with little funds. The improvises and innovative ideas are always interesting to read and follow.
Sure beats reading about the guy that wrote a cheque to this body shop, or that assembly shop then claims that he "built" that vehicle!

Couldn't agree more. I'm not really a fan of guys who claim to have built a vehicle and then list the previous 6 owners who have probably done more than the current owner has... especially on classic cars. I've found that a lot at car shows...
The ol' "I built this car. The guy I bought it off of didn't completely restore everything.... the stereo and the door latches weren't OEM..."

Dont blame ya, not everyone can and wants to build stuff. Its just the kind of guys I prefer to associate with opposed to the other guys. I just prefer the true enthusiast rather then the enthusiast with a chequebook.
Perfect example. One guy I met through work was telling me he had a sweet plymouth duster, caught my attention right away. So after seeing it and hearing all about it, I thought wow this guy knows his stuff. Well in the end of talking about this guys whole "build" all he did was hire out ever bit of work to someone else, and claimed that he built it. tsk tsk
I look at my own bank account and I could so much easier afford a built 51 mercury. But I like building stuff, and learning stuff. I can build a truck for cheaper, do it my way, and enjoy it through the whole process. Headaches dont really come if your enjoying yourself!
I think its awesome your doing your own work to your own car, specially screwing up. Bet after ya get it right, ya would wonder why the hell you would every pay someone else to do it.

I am learning thats for sure. Biggest thing to learn is to make sure you have all the proper tools at hand. I'm positive that with a Dial Indicator on hand the first time, we wouldn't be doing this round 2.
That being said, round 2 will be much easier as we have already gotten bolts loosened and know how to get the axle out of the car quickly. Also, my neighbor a couple doors down has offered us the use of a hoist at his workplace any evenings or a weekend if we need!! They also have a bearing puller there which would make life easier as well...
Job for today...
1)order more pinion shims
2)buy dial indicator
3)buy new abs sensor
4)buy new E-brake tension spring bolt retainer.
