Good morning folks, it`s Fridayand the weekend is here!
I was under the impression that irs is supposed to be far superior to a straight axe.
Your up on your newer Mustangs more than I am on the vintage ones.

It is superior in a way, and not in another way.
Ride with an independant suspension system on anything (think quads especially) is really alot nicer and less rough riding. That doesnt mean that a solid axle cant be just fine but it is never as plush or nice riding.
All depends what ya want. For my 51 build I wanted an IFS out of a jag for the improved ride, and thought what the hell, might as well try an IRS since Ill have it sitting there anyways. In the end for myself, I just want the experience of building something interesting, that I could drive to Edmonton if I wanted, and would handle excellent, like a jag does.
Now if I wanted to build a truck to putter in and around the city, then I would probably have decided to build my truck sort of like Grant is doing with his, as in using the original suspension, upgrade to the toyota power steering, basically build a good driveable truck that wouldnt benefit from having jag suspension under it.
Both builds would be very cool, just different! (in my opinion anyways)
Happy Saturday all. We have a family reunion next weekend in Carberry, Mb. got out of it by having to look after the dog (she needs medication). Gotta love it
