Got to strip it down completely but can do that in my tool shed as I'll be needing to put the shaft in my vice. Have an old bearing press and all the tools that I'll need. Going to take off the bell housing also as it looks like everything is original, may need to dig out my old clutch parts and put in the best of the lot, have a relatively new starter too. Looked up rebuild kits and it's $200 canadian plus shipping for everything including a new 2nd gear synchro ring, that includes bearings, seals, small parts kit and gaskets. Not that bad a deal for a rebuilt trans, but need to inspect my 3/4 synchro first, can't order it until the 1st anyway so I have some time to break it down.

If I remember correctly the Midfifty ABS interior kit is about $8-900 US plus shipping?
That`s not bad at all Perry, unfortunately I've never rebuilt a transmission so I would have labour on top of that.

The top loader type transmission is really straight forwards as to rebuilding, it's the side shifting transmissions and automatics that are a pita. On this one most of everything is on the main shaft, with an idler shaft on the bottom driver side of the transmission. Tere is a front shaft that goes into the main shaft and a tail shat that does the same thing. Taking my time and double checking plus pictures and it'll still only take a couple of hours to put it together, a real trany guy would take an hour and bill for 3 to put it back together.

Happy Sunday"all. Just got back from my ma's place. Brought them supper for a few day's, Cut my brother's hair, and gave him a shave. Boy, this is something I'd never imaging doing. I draw the line at bathing him, or my mother, and doing his nail's. Home care starts at the end of the week. My sister will do laundry, and finances, my bro will take her to Dr appts.
