It`s got a lower part the looks like a tapered pig`s snot that goes underneath the stump and flips it`s out of the ground. It`s easy to pop the even a larger stump with the hole only the size of the stump. It`s got an upper jaw for large stubborn stumps. also works on rocks the same way.
This is a similar but the one I borrowed was longer and slimmer with an upper hydraulic clamp. http://www.anbomanufacturing.com/extractor1
I have a Limbinator Saw for my Bobcat:
A stump puller or 3 sticks of dynamite would have been nice and easy but I barely had enough room to get to them with my sawzall and drill. Wood bits came in handy as did the sledge hammer, the dirt and sand would have killed the chain on my saw. I hate tight spots and this should have been done 10 years ago when they did the dig out for the sidewalk, a 1 hour job then would have saved me 6 hours today.
Storm came in making all kinds of noise, windy with bid rain drops. Shut it down, cleaned up, got supper on the go and now that I'm eating it, it's nice, calm and sunny.
Going to have myself a get fat session the rest of the night, Morris, it wont help but at least my energy will be on high tomorrow. Got a bunch of panel boards to paint and install tomorrow, will be able to loose sight of the neighbor when I'm done. lol
Harvest moon is coming, time to make sure everything is ready for indian summer.
Harvest moon means that fall will be here all too soon, I hope we have a very long and warm Indian summer.
If the wind was any stronger here today any freshly laid swaths might have been on the move.
