Yeah jack, I own one right now, although its supposed to be built heavy since its a gravel truck!
I forget the model of the one i am looking at, but when i have a little more time I will post it, and you can tell me anything there is to tell about it
as long as its in good condition and it will pass inspection. as of next week i won't be on the forum much!! all i know is tool up, pack your bag your going. next monday dad will be here.
hey at least its a job that i can't fired from!! thats how i look at it.
Ok specs. Cat with 435 horse, 18 speed double overdrive, 3.90 gears, rockwell 46k rears. Never did say the model number. Has a 52 inch sleeper, looks in decent shape, guy said tires will pass safety but will need replacing in a little bit.
I figured it would be good for running around in the province here. Wish i woulda got the model of it though. The looks kinda remind me of a kenworth t800b, and it has those funny looking western star sleepers on it.
i know what they look like! i have drivin my dads truck before its not a bad rig.
my dad has a C-15 CAT and a 15spd, i've never heard of a 15 spd myself! i will find out tho... most of the big rigs have 9 spd, 10,13,18 gear trannys...in my 25 years as a mechanic i've never heard of it....
Im an 18 speed guy. There is just nothing like having a split everywhere! You dont have to use them all, but sometimes with heavy loads they sure come in handy!
i'm thinking 13 gear, and i know you don't have to use them all. i have changed 9 spds into 13spds before and 18spds just a matter of air regulators top2 boxs and a shifter **** and airlines. somewhere around here i have a diagram on what goes where/what to add and airline routeing.
my wife drove a century class and she had a super10 spd. she drove it like a 9 spd.
how i figured that out i drove with her.. then i showed her how to drive it like a 10spd.
Well I'm back from the land of sunshine to the h&$l hole of the Canadain winter. Did anyone else get a winter snow storm yesterday? It's hard to tell how much we got all together with the wind. I figure about 6 inches at least. I tried to go around the back of the house this afternoon and the snow was 6 inches above my knees! I was hoping the snow would be going away by the ime we got home but no such luck.
Maybe by the long weekend in May the snow will be gone....
California was hot and sunny. Only seen a few clouds one day. There was wind a few days but the temps were still beautiful. Temps ranged from 72-92 F. It was awesome.
Welcome back Sharon, you`ve been missed, this place has dead!
Sherm`s away to visit his dad on his birthday in NS, he should be back later this week I think. Sheldon seems to be busy truckin` and the rest of us aren`t on here near as often........
We didn`t get much of a storm, a touch of freezing rain with a bit fresh snow on top of it. Today the sun is working at melting it away though.
Glad you guys had a great time in CA.!
Hey Guys, know I have not been around in a few. Just been busier than a one-legged man at an *** kicking contest. Yep, been kicking all that ***, except for one. If I kick her in the ***, I would be offline for several months recuperating. LOL
Hope everybody is doing well.
The trees are budding now, the weed is turning green (wrong weed guys - dangit), finally the gray and brown is leaving. I love Winter, but Spring is Mother Nature's best gift. New Life begins all over again.
Going to have to climb under the truck, drop the tank and see if that damn sock is plugged up. I have tried everything else. I did not know that the old girl wore socks. I don't want to have to spend $350.00 more on sensors just to find out it was in the tank. I just spent $400.00 for a pump installed. Damn girl is as expensive as getting rid of that X. I have spent over $4K on her since Christmas. Enough is enough.
From what we have heard since we were away, we have had just over a foot of snow. Not what my idea of spring is, but I guess it will come along sometime this year. The spot where we blow most of the snow to is almost as high as I am (5'4") after blowing the snow off the driveway today. I was really hoping we wouldn't be able to use the snowmobiles when we got back, since it is almost the end of March.....
