I like to spend my mornings in solitude and quietness with my pooches. I don't get that opportunity anymore as my kids are early risers. I don't even get the fire started and they're up.
Happy Sunday, I notice its -42 windchills out there... Won't be mowing grass in this...
Happy to say that I was NOT at the Yamaha demo days, though I did see the semi there, I was on my way to get firewood. I thought the viper chassis would have been an improvement over the Yamaha chassis. I haven't ridden either, so shouldn't pass judgement. 95hp?...Yawn........
95HP......Quit pickin on the ole guy eh?
As for the Viper, it was a great machine from what I remember. I spent more time readjusting myself on the sled to not have my legs spread apart with every second move on it. Lot's of power. The xtx my arms actually got tired as it was a bit harder to hand onto when going WOT. For the way I ride, with 80+HP, you guys are going to need all the HP you can get with a side of long straights to keep up

He went off track, ignored the 2 "stay on trail signs", ignored the 2 yellow markers they put up for the huge boulders in the ditch and ended up locking up the track. Spun sideways right at the point of impact. He flew, 60' before touching back down, and the machine came to a dead stop against boulder sideways. Total loss. Broke everything off one side, crushed all that into the bent tunnel with a twisted track to top it off.
As for your sled ride I'm glad it went well I'm excited for you to get your new sled buuutttt I might just have to bring mine down and let you take it for a rip so you can feel some real horse power
Sherwin! that addition you added to Curtis's post was hilarious!! I told my girlfriend about it and she even burst out laughing
No bringing Barker or CHooChoo out for her on the next visit
Praying for whoever it was last night on Hwy 59. Got a text from SIL saying there was a death on the trail last night at 317.
Time to wake my chitlans up, actually sleeping in a bit today!! I let Cam stay up and watch SX on speed so he's probably a wee bit tired this morning. Nice and quick eggs n toast for breaky!!
Have a great Sunday everyone

This is why land owners are closing sled trails, cus of jerks like that
I've noticed this season a bunch of re-routes. Not 100% sure why, if it was abuse or not. Maybe just safety. I know the farm field couple miles east of me had signs on his fields "stay off, winter wheat". It was a short cut to the corner so many still used it. I'd stop and stand his signs back up everytime I went by. Everyone has their share of closures due to 1 bad apple in every crowd. Mars sands North of me is a wildfire of controversy for ATV traffic. Which of coarse everyone's piped, with Huge Mud Eating tires causing massive ruts all over the place. I personally don't even ride there anymore due to the damage/blame that's going on. The sled club has to go in everyfall and bring a cat, loads of dirt in to repair the sled trail for winter. It's never going to stop as i've riden countless amount of hours locally here ATV and sled and have NEVER once seen anyone police the trails. So it's basically a free for all..... Booze, parties, garbage, DUI ect ect ect. I see it everyweekend i'm out with the fam or cousins....... Only so much you can do to clean up everytime you go out. Disheartening when you want to ride but have to clean your regular pit area......
As a matter of fact, most guys who put on the hardcore miles (incl myself) don't ride the trails Friday evenings and avoid them on weekends just because of the risk. Mainly at night. I'll bet if I was to take a trip to every shack Monday's, i'd have enough money in MT's to send my kids to school in the future!! Never mind the pits my cousin and I frequent in the summer time. Thank god there's no policing going on, If I got stopped in the summer they'd find so many mt beer cans in my enclosed it would be hard to prove I chose "Zero".........
I gotta find a pic of kids and I cleaning up one time. Filled a contractor bag full of crushed MT's one year. As a matter of fact, Cameron cut his finger open picking up a broken bottle.
Sorry guys/gals.....I get some worked up about the closure topic. It's sad, but I don't think my kids will ever experience what I did as a child playing in the local pits/trails with the cousins all on our ole 3 wheelers.
I agree with all that Curtis, some land owners dont like the noise from sleds without mufflers......... they really are too loud, save that for the race track.........
I was a groomer operator for the local club here & we would never groom Friday night or on weekends ..... I love grooming all by myself...
I nearly met my waterloo in BC coming off the mountain once. Came around a blind corner (as they all are there) going way too fast and there was the groomer. Lucky my RMK is nimble, I was able to shoot an instant sidehill to my right and avoid a collision. Didn't stop to clean out my shorts until I got to the truck
Was the Yamaha written off in the Yorkton demo days?
Good point Sherm, when I was grooming we were told to raise the plow blade if we saw sleds coming at us, not good for the guy going too fast on a sled.....

Unsure. Jamie (demo driver) said there was no time to wait for insurance ect ect. They just took a new Viper off the shelf and threw it in the trailer for him to head to the next event.
Saw on the news last night about that sled accident North of me here. Sad stuff..........My prayors go out to the family and friends for their loss.
Another work week ahead for most!! Hopefully Grants hockey weekend went well. Heading out the the mancave to fire up the stove. Have another JDeer to fix/service. Can't wait for hump day this week!!!
Morning Clint, Steve, Morris, IB, Falcon, Grant, Sherwin, Gerry and Susie. Hope you all have a Fantastic start to the week
I thought having a pilot sled would be a good idea, but there isn't too many guys who want to do an all night ride at 2km/h... Maybe the guys who ride those new phazers...
Its another cold one this am...could this be the last hurrah for the cold?
Happy Monday mornin'all. Hope everyone had a good weekend. We got home yesterday evening. We did very well at the hockey tourney, coming in 5th out of 18 teams. We lost only one game out of 5. When we got to the arena for our last game the Police were there. Apparently a parent went into the opposing dressing room and started punching the coach. Geez, these kid's are only 8 yrs old. I really feeel sorry for the children that witnessed this. Other than that we didn't shop much. I got a few goodies fron Harbor Freight, and some shoes for the kid's. Took the day off to just loaf around. Have a great day guy's.
