I kick myself for not having bought your '86 LX 5.0 vert a few years back. Had the money all set aside, but like I mentioned, wife prefers the newer front clip. Hindsight...that was a beauty of a car.
Got a pretty awesome idea... Call on the Cobra, come to Yorkton in your '86 GT (you'd have to pass through anyway), we'll take my truck and trailer to go look at the Cobra......
Yes, I agree, Morris should buy this Cobra, I buy his GT...

Just kidding really... I'm actually pretty proud of what you're achieving for your age!!!
We are having a nice warm spell which started on Monday. Above the freezing mark today.
Sometimes it`s a pretty small world.
Speaking of rare cars, I know most of you will laugh at this but when I was 16 I almost bought a 1991 Dodge Shadow Turbo Convertible.
A buddy of mine that lives in Carman has an 86 Mustang with a semi built engine, its got about 275hp and it goes pretty good. Not the fastest car in the world but its not the slowest either, but I'm sure I could take him in the 1/4 mile with my truck
.What colour was your Cobra Morris? Why don't you buy the one Sherwin is looking at
??
Well I guess the turbo did give it some redeeming qualities. My 88 was pure white which for most Mustangs doesn`t seem to work too well but on mine I thought it was perfect and white gave it a bit of a sleeper look to it.

Couple years ago he was working on his grass with his old Deere 345. Going up the hill he flipped it over himself. Thank god he was ok, but I tell ya, that guy pushes things to the limit!! Can't tell ya how many times he's called to get him unstuck in the yard
So if I'm out working chances are very good that the wife and I come home to a blown driveway. He's like a brother from anotha *****!!
That's a beautiful stang Morris. Hopefully Sherm finds a mint one to build!! I'd love to have some extra cash to pick up one as a weekend grocery getter. If memory serves me correct with the buddies cars in the past, they weren't that bad on fuel either being the best power to weight ratio factory car of its day!!!

I probably wouldn't buy another convertible, especially when racing is in mind. Its a lot more work to get it stiff enough to race. Also, the convertible has more creaks and rattles than a coupe, not to mention they're often 500# or more heavier than the coupe.

To get rid of that 4-eyed look I want to get replacements for the missing head light covers that eliminate that look, my son doesn`t remember having them and his brother in law probably doesn`t remember what happened to them after he got the car new.
That`s a lot easier and way cheaper than changing the front clip.Seriously I`d really love another 88 and up Fox Mustang but first I have to decide if I want to give up my 125,000 km original everything including paint 86 GT, it`s been in the family since new.
We dodged the bullet with last night`s storm, it was very windy for part of the day into the early evening but luckily we only got about 4-5'' of fresh snow in these parts.

I don't expect you should ever get a hernia...with your cushy job...walking around taking pics of ice blobs and such...

If your gonna build a race car the first one would make a good, cheap platform and the second one is pretty much a race car already. Hey I like my cushy job
I don't have to go outside and freeze my *** off and I make pretty good money for what I do to

A Shadow....

That sounds like a neighbour that we all would like to have, around here everyone has their own equipment and most keep to themselves. My 88 would get about 30 mpg...if I ever wanted to keep my foot out of it.

Thankfully I haven`t ran into anyone like this...yet.

You just might have a deal Sherm, pick this 88 up and deliver it here then we`ll talk.

(not saying it would win but probably keep up). And I'm pretty sure if Sherwin bought your 86 he would take good care of itNot gonna lie, all this Mustang talk is making me want one

Not just a Shadow, it was a Shadow Turbo Convertable! Only 562 of them made, then you break down the colours and options and your looking at a very rare car that, stock vs stock, would probably give your Mustang a run for its money

I`m sure Sherm ''will'' take good care of the 86.

I`m of the same mind set too Chris, I can't wait for spring to get here....all my toys are waiting!

Thanks for the info, I was unaware of what a Shadow Turbo was. Sounds like Carroll Shelby might have had a hand in it.

Morning everyone, today is valentines day! Whos got plans?? I'm gonna make my girl friend supper and spend the day with her
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
It's love day, hope you all got my V-Day cards in the mail in time :P
Morris: Don't get rid of the 86. Aren't the 85-86's very very rare? The only time i've ever got the wife to cash in a Honda on a Ford was about 15 years ago. I got her into a 85 Stang, LX V6. HATED IT!! 6months later she was back in a civic lol. Then she got me back when my 91Ranger with 565000kms broke down she made me buy a Windstar for the chitlans on the way !!
Sherm: If your seriously looking at a car, A friend of mine has 2 stangs, 87-89 era with FI 460's in them. I could make a quick call for ya see if he's interested in selling. These were sleepers and if memory serves me correct, the powertrains are well done where as the bodies/paint were rough. (unpurpose)
Sorry about the post last night about MPIC folks. Wife came home with bad news and I was soooooo choked. Long story short, 26 years driving with no tickets, red light cameras, no accidents until her roll over in spring. Never off work in her life for injury/sickness. Went back to work early when son was born (5 months)........MPIC denied her Personal Injury Claim. Because she's a "Worker" and went back to work after 4 days of the roll over DENIED. I swear to god our system sets up workers to fail fail fail. Where's the "Rant off button"?!?!

The guy says its some sort of replacement for displacement...lol... There are a couple really nice Fox's in town here, one tried his hand at a light-to-light street race against my Cobra last year. Wasn't much of a challenge... If I go for that Cobra by myself it won't make it past the farm on the way home...

A good race was me and my buddy with our twins. He has the smaller S/C pulley, larger intercooler and a few other things, I'm just tuned for my off road "X" pipe. He could pull a car length on me by 100mph, he's a gear jammer though, I'm not real aggressive with my shifts. His car is probably putting 30-40hp more on the ground with his mods.

I don't mean to sound like the "my wife calls the shots" guy...but when she's into the car thing, the least I can do is adjust my tastes a little to keep the peace. If she wanted nothing to do with it, I'd buy exactly what I want with no compromise
This way I still get what I want, and then I get what I want...

Go buy yourself a mustang...your girlfriend will love it.
Carroll Shelby used the toilet also, but I'm not so sure we'd like what he produced there...
Many different manufacturers had some unique and collectable cars. Ford Mustang SVO for example... 2.3L turbo'd Fox. One on Kijij last year for quite a while, a pretty decent deal, but alas I had no room for it. Its gone now, I'll be watching to see if the guy puts it up again if it didn't sell. I really like the mid '90's Dodge Stealth. I believe they were a joint effort with Mitsubishi at that time. Twin turbo'd v6, cool body lines and pretty fast.
You make the call Boss...I take good care of everything in my possession...

Sure sounds like Mo is considering it eh? I have to admit, the fact that its been in the family since new is very cool, it would be hard to part with it. Some day I would like to do the same with a cool ride. Buy new, preserve. I'd love to start with a new 2014 GT500, but the 70+g tag slows my process...
Morning Boys and FQ. This replying to multi-quotes takes a lot of time...
Have a good Friday everyone, and a happy valentines day.
Too bad about your wifes denied claim. Hopefully she isn't suffering from cronic pain due to her accident. Getting a Lawyer involved is probably pointless with the government insurances eh?
