And watching the hockey! haha, I know I'm making my job sound like a joke but there is a lot of brain work that goes on. Might not be a lot of physical work but you need to be on your toes at all times. If something happens and you make a mistake you could cause millions in damage, or even worse, you could injure or kill yourself or a co-worker. A few months ago, a guy at a different Generating station then the one I work at made a mistake and took 8000 volts into his back and managed to survive. He's very lucky to be alive and it really wakes you up to the danger of my job just hearing about it.
Wow, a electrician where I work took 4160, it blew out his hip. Everyone couldn't believe he was still alive, said if the current went through his heart and not the hip it would have been different. Couldn't imagine 8000...
Morning gents
I wanna say thanks to all you guys for the kind words. Pretty darn cool of ya. Randy, thanks for the text last night bud!! Very nice of ya.
We still kinda got together yesterday, sandwiches and pizza pops for dinner..lol. Hopefully, should get results soon, we can put the turkey and ham in the oven and have mom home for our din din today!! If not, we'll put it off another day for her
Brett, did you manage to get out for a lil rip in the area? I was going to say, but forgot, if you have net there. Snowman site has maps of the area. There are a few runs in that area that lead back to where you started and are beautifull trails. Hopefully you get out for one before heading back ! It's only an hour for me to get out there to a meeting point if I was to just head straight out so hopefully I can sneek out for a couple 5 hours for a ride with ya.
I licked a 9v battery once... :-) power is something to be respected. I know a guy who was a painter, touched a roller extension to some high voltage wires and blew off his arm.
Brett - That guy is very lucky, might be in a lot of pain and might have problems in the future but I'd gladly take that over dying any day.
Cutis - No problem bud, its the least I can do. Hopefully you'll be eating ham and turkey tonight with your whole family!
Sherm - I too have licked a 9v battery haha, I've also taken 125DC through the arm. It hurt a little lol, and a few co-workers of mine have gotten a poke from 600v but thats nothing compaired to losing a limb. Also, one of my aunt's cousin's husband lost both his arms from contact with electrical equipment.
Randy, Ya that guy is having nerve issues now I heard, had serious burns too, but your right better to be alive.
Curtis, I put about 90miles on her so far, went to a warm up shack the other day and we did a ride out to the old pinawa dam today and then a buddies ice shack, awesome riding out here
I remember my dad tricking me to lick a 9v when I was younger, lmao
my 5 year old girl made my day yesterday. Normally she is petrified of my sled (it is loud) but yesterday she wanted to ride. Says to myself, no *****footing around, she wants to ride, she will ride my style... Took her over a couple drifts, bounced her around a bit, thinking she may be getting upset, I slowed down only to hear "hit a jump again Dad!!!"
Didn't get a pic of her with me, but here's a couple my wife took...
So I need a group consensus, I got a guy from Ontario that contacted me wanting to buy my Spartan tuner. I don't want to ship my tuner and have to hope that he's gonna actually send me money. So what do you guys think I should do?
I would never send something to a stranger without being paid. In the end if he doesn't pre pay, you still have the tuner. I think paypal is the solution here.
