I loved playing a fender strat that I had until I got my left hand crushed at work. I was in the high school jazz band and played in several bands out of school in the local bar scene but was not officially a member in any of them. I could just walk in and get requested to join them. I dabbled a bit with drums and could carry a good rythym beat, but nothing fancy. I could do a good rollout. But since then, I have lost my desire to even attempt to play any more. The pain is just too great and if you cannot put your soul into it it just does not sound right.
yea paul,
i have a gibson sg, memphis strat copy sounds good and twangy for country, hamer, and a first act les paul copy, my amps are randall rg-50-112,first act 10 watt practice, effects are digitech rp10 processor. strings are dean markely 046-10 on all guitars. i can get all of them to sound alike pretty much. like is said i started on piano
the hard part about guitar was the fingurings the notes are pretty much the same. that took a few years to get down. i didn't learn slide until the late 80's. but i could never find any scales for it. so most of my slide playing was improvised for a long time.
i've had a few different guitars in my short time, but an ibanez acoustic has been my favorite that i have right now. i'd like to get a Dean 12 string, but i haven't the time to play lately, so having an extra guitar sitting around would be a waste!!
yeah sherm,
your probably right about having the extras sitting around. like i said i haven't played in a while. due to one thing or another. i just restrung all of them within the last couple of months. now that i'm not working i can sit down and play somemore again. question? did you check out that tune that laredo put up from you tube?
morris your funny. thanx. you got me on that one!
i just hope you guys had a great christmas.
sorry for my ramblings.
Very true there Sherm ha, ha!
We had a good Christmas with the weather finally getting out of the -30`s making it alot nicer for the holidays. Aside from a lack of snow, how about you Paul?
It was actually decent out here today, minus 21 this afternoon. Last week they were predicting minus 13 for sunday, but it doesnt sound like that now, but that woulda been nice too!
