guys,
get on the nationalweatherservice.com and you track the weather down in the us.
just type in the state, or nation wide. the local news said its about 35*f here in sandy.
I was opening up the top drawer, it snagged the second drawer and toppled over on me. From an earlier post, I did get the first injury while in the Military from the danged Parachute Trainer. Back has been screwed enough for the Flight Surgeon to yank my ticket (*******!)
We did get some more of the dang white fluffy stuff, if you want it come and get it. With this flu/cold I don`t feel like getting out in the Bobcat and moving it like I did last week but it looks like I have no choice. It`s cold today, -22 and looking like it going to get worse as the week goes by.
Plug in not working? Then I leave it parked.........
Unless hauling, with this stupid insanely cold weather I always use a gasser rather than torturing the PSD!
Yeah my block heater is working. I should have switched to synthetic oil in november though. Plus im still on the original batteries, and they do wear out!
As for cold use for a psd, if ya switch to synthetic oil and plug it in, they do the job well, but I hear ya, I would rather have a nice gas 4x4 for times like this. The 2 wheel drive half ton doesnt do very well when it snows and storms that bad, and I refuse to let a little storm keep me at home IF I want to leave!
I`ve never been once stranded anywhere with one of our 2 wheel drive Rangers or Ford half tons by just using normal winter driving habits. Remember t the roads aren`t near as bad as they were 40 years ago.
If there`s a real bad blizzard that we shouldn`t be in we`re staying home!
i'm back,
your psd should start without being plugged in. if the glow plugs are functioning properly. and good batteries. it should start in any type of climate. if i can get class 8 detroit to start in sub-zero temps that has no glow plugs what so ever and they start just fine. even the cats, cummins all start up just fine. sorry guys i'm a diesel tech.
Well I should start checking my glow plugs out then, cause if my truck isnt plugged in, and its minus 15 she will not start, especially with dino oil in there!
[QUOTE=preppypyro;6954614]You should have came and tested your rangers out on the gravel roads here last night!QUOTE]
Gravel on your road.......then quit your complaining.....
When I started driving it was mainly a sort of dirt trail going past our farm, up hill both ways.......and of course no Super Grids.
In over 45 years of driving I`ve been there in Rangers, semi`s, farm tractors, grain trucks, cars going through mud, snow and freezing rain.......
That`s not to say I enjoyed EVERY single mile of it though...
