By FOGHAT I presume Jack means John Fogerty, the former lead singer and lead guitarist of Creedence Clearwater Revival, old rock and roll and also Blue Ridge Rangers, a collection of mainly country and afew gospel songs. He later went on to a brilliant solo career selling billions of records/CD`s/etc. Still going strong with tours, new albums........ John Fogerty - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
sherm,guys,
they recorded songs like SLOW RIDE, FOOL FOR THE CITY, TERRA PLANE BLUES, ETC.
go to you tube and type in FOGHAT! they are a blues, boogie band from back in the
70's. they formed from a band called savoy brown. i had the privledge to meet lonesome dave and rod price, tony stevens, roger earl. the new foghat i think isn't as good as the old foghat. since dave and rod died they have 2 new members. i know the lead and slide guitar player came from molly hatchet, and the new singer i haven't a clue where he came from. but they're good and you should check it out. or go to FOGHAT.com i have probably about everything they ever recorded!
i play guitar myself and i play slide guitar as well. i've been playing for over 20 years!
It was a 400 block and was supposed to be destroked to a 351. Mine wasn't. It had a 400 crank, connecting rods and pistons and some oddball heads from another group that had been milled and modified to fit. A 750 cfm motorcraft carb with electronic ignition finished the package. I would dare say that it ws turning right close to 325 horses and maybe more. It would bury you in the seat like the Powerstroke will starting right off of idle. I saw quite a few 5K shifts with it laying down a dual stripe at each one.
Like I said earlier, it drove the dealer mad trying to get the minor parts I needed for it.
1985 with a 351M/400?
That would be rare indeed, as the last 351M/400's were factory installed in 1982.
Ford never offered any HiPo 351M/400's. The 351M was a smogged up turd of an engine that was very prone to cracking heads, the 400 after 1974 suffered the same maladies.
Ford never offered any 1975/82 351M's or 1971/82 400's with a 4V carb. All were 2V's.
What 6 speed granny geared manual trans w/overdrive would any 1985 F150/350 4WD or Bronco possibly have? Ford offered no such transmission.
The 4WD's could be ordered with a ZF 5 speed O/D, but only with a 460 or a diesel, which precludes an F150 or Bronco, because neither engine was available in these trucks,
Do you still have this 4WD's VIN by any chance, or any pics of the engine compartment?
Bill, I am searching for the VIN now. I can say this, changing the back two plugs and one one the right front were a real PITA. One under the heater and a/c box, one under the master cylinder and the other was under that big massive a/c compressor. If I remember right, the saleman told me that truck was a special order that was turned down because of the color and the leather interior. Like I said, it was badged wrong, I have owned enough of them to know that an XL at that time has no carpet and plain interior. This truck was loaded with full power, leather, carpet, climate control, privacy slider and very dark tint (60%) factory glass on the sides, factory two inch lift. It was one bad *** truck. I also remember that it used a rear weird sparkplug and it you put anything in it other than a Motorcraft, it would burn the guts out of them.
It was one weird truck, I would love to find it. It was sold for scrap when an *** with coke bottle glasses pulled out in front of her.
