Crap, the weather dude just said that we have "violent thunderstorms" headed our way and they are going to pass right over Lake Conroe. We live on the eastern shore of the lake.
Might have to wait this out.
In case you're wondering, on the map above, that place Lake Charles is where Rick (miller feed) is. Not too far from me.
Take what you can get Scott. We had that front move through up here yesterday. It rained in Grandview, and it rained in Maypearl. Guess who lives between those to towns and didn't get a drop.
Oh we'll take it for sure. That free water keeps the grass green and HOA off of my butt.
Pretty dry up there where you are?
Naw, we were pretty dry a few weeks ago. Now it's just pathetic. 3 weeks since I cut hay and the fields are only 4 or 5" tall now. Gonna be another bad year for hay. I've already got the rest of this years sold without even discussing price or quantity. They just said they would buy whatever I cut.
Dang, Chris, that really sucks. I hope it gets better up there soon. I have an uncle that is a cattle rancher in Nebraska. I spent a lot of summers there on the ranch so I can somewhat relate to what you're going through. Farming/ranching is a tough job!

We're already in an OT thread. Why not share the joke now? I don't think we've had any jokes yet.
Suppose I can do it now. This is not a c and p, so some quality may be lost in my interpretation.
Two Mexicans sharing a motel home as a home, made their living by holding up the typical "Homeless, Starving Family" signs on various corners in Los Angeles. Every afternoon they would get back to the room for the daytime tv they could not miss out on. One would net 40 to 50 bucks everyday for his 5 or 6 hours of effort. The other 4 or 500. First Mexican asked second how he did so well everyday. For the first time he unfolded his sign and it simply said. 10 more dollars and I can get back to Mexico. Please Help.
This is better than what I expected, I put a joke in the Club every now and then and most folks tell me it is as old as me. So I sort of give up on posting jokes.
I can't wait to see his next one. That is just too funny.
Barry, Do you have any kind of life?
Hmm, we'll see, and yes I do have a life, short though it may be. I work night shift, Sun throughThurs, fish and work around the house and yard in the morning, stop by FTE, make a futile attempt to sleep for a few hours, visit FTE, type a little, work on honey do list, go outside to enjoy the late evening, hot temps and high humidity, back to check on FTE, shower and off to work with a bunch of young cute nurses at the hospital. Leave work at 0700 and start all over again. Weekends are much better, This weekend for example, home from work Friday 0730 work on getting boat ready while still below 90*. Come in, check FTE, try to sleep for a couple hours, fail at sleep, up at 3:30p, off to fish night tournament by 4:30p fish 7pm-2am, home by 3:30am, check FTE, Shower, bed by 5am, up by 8-9am honey do most of the day, beer and food of the day, FTE, bed by 11p, up for tournament by 3:30a on lake by 5:30, back home by 5:30p, shower, FTE, nap and back to work. Tournaments vary from Sat to Sun. Sat tourneys get me out of honey do's and Church on Sunday.
During the fall and winter, through a few trips to woods for deer per week in and that's part of my life. So yep, I have a life and I think it's a pretty darn good one. And yes, I am married and to the same woman for 25 years last month. She tolerates my life and helps finance my bad habits.
Thanks for asking.
My fishing consists of fishing around in the cooler for my next one......
Not a day goes by here that I don't find something new to have in common with one member or another. I had (up until Friday night) 2 very nice fishing poles. Loaned them to my womans crackhead son, get them returned alright. One broken, one misplaced somewhere. Least I didn't loan my cooler too.
