Pat is making me motivated to do something, although everytime I start pricing out parts, i talk myself out of it and say if I'm going to spend that money, I should buy a 53 ford truck to put the money in!
Has anyone made progress besides Pat? He thinks he's so special he had to start his own thread.......Anyway, I sure haven't been. I've just been saving money is all.....

Peer pressure.....peer pressure.....peer pressure.... I'm kind of the same way Dallas, but I just order a little at a time, here and there. The pricey stuff is going to be the engine and paint.
Hey All - Sorry I have not been on lately but have not been on the computer much as of late. I have also made some forward movement on my projects.
On the motor I am building for the 69 I got 7 of the 8 Rods reconditioned and need to get the 8th one to replace the one that was bad. Once I get that one then I can go ahead and ballance the rotating assembley - Good project for this winter when its cold.
On the 56 I have been stripping the paint off the cab and pounding out dents. My body man has it scheduled for Next week to cut the cowl panels in and door posts and I will be having a customer of mine install the triangular 4 link rear end by the end of November.
Seems like everything goes in spurts - I haven't done a damn thing on mine since May and in the last week have had a flury of activity! Oh well - My 56 will be done by cruise nite - I'm just not telling anyone the year!
Projects.....next summer I will have 3!!! 1. My Blue '77 F250....2. '67 Mustang(body work)....3. '66 Falcon (body work)....
#s 2 & 3 belong to a parts guy at Performance and both cars will be done here and the $$$ will go to parts for #1. I just asked Joe to get more info on both cars and some pics if he can so I can see what i will be dealing with......
56 is in the body shop! Installing Floor Pans, Door Posts, Cowl Panels, Welding Air Scoop shut, straitening back of cab and other minor dents. I will try and get some photos and get them posted. Spending some serious $$$ this last week and the next 2. 1 year of saving shot in less than 3 weeks! Shhhhhhhhhhh - Don't tell Deb!
Thanks for the pics George, coming right along! Is that in your storage area? What are you stripping the body with? I've been considering getting the conversion kit for my sandblaster to make it a soda blaster.
Using Aircraft Remover from Klean Strip. It is some NASTY S--T! Put it on, let it sit for 15 or 20 minutes then used a plastic scraper to remove most of the paint and then a Red 3M pad and wate to get the rest of it off. It worked pretty well and I think it was easier than the sand blasting. I still plan on sandblasting the frame and some areas of the cab but the places I want to be careful not to ward the remover worked well. The pictures were taken at my Body man's Shop. I am letting the professionals do the welding and replacing of the body panels!
I'm in the process of sandblasting the frame. I'm using Dupont aluminum oxide "ultra". It works well, but it takes forever! With the way the weather is acting, I'm either going to have to put up some plastic in the shop and finish it in there, or just wait to finish it in the spring. I still have to get the cab off of the 68. Got to have all this done by Nov. 1st, wer'e shutting down to refuel, and I'll be working 6-7 days a week.
Stoped in today to drop off my cab mounts and Jerry had my left cowl panel on and started on the right. Ordered my bear claw door latches today so can get them installed. Will bring it home next Wednesday to get the paint striped off the inside and seams sealed underneath and maybe even the cab lifted off the frame. The pieces are finishing up nicely. The only surprise is how solid this old truck is!
