i called the guy last week and said he would even work w/ a guy on price and that someone jacked the front grill off of it a month or two ago...good thing i kno a guy or two that deals in these sort of things *cough cough, Randy*.... but anywho, should i go for it?
Like I said in class the other day, that caught my eye until I saw "no title". I don't know for sure what all is involved in getting a lost title, or whatever. It sounds like a pain tho.
Speaking of a pain.....guess who's changing plugs in their HEMI today!!! Glad there's only 16!!!
Also, I fixed the passenger side door on Blue too. Turns out the rod that runs from the latch to the inside door release flipper deal just MAGICALLY fell off. Strange things happen when people slam doors that don't need to be slammed huh?
HAHA! another reason i like the old dogs...still a pain sometimes, but a few less typically lol
i wouldn't imagine that there would b that much involved in getting another title, i hear that landlords do it all the time when renter's leave behind cars and stuff...
Yikes.....I'll be sure not to leave any of my junk behind when I move......however, I'm not sure what kind of idiot leaves a vehicle behind when they move.....
Well gang.....here we are at the beginning of another summer. What's everyone been wrenchin' on? I've been doing a fair amount of work with my cousin on his '71 International pickup and the last two nights on his '67 Pontiac Le Mans (nice car, I'm jealous). Since it rained about an inch here last night and it's too wet to get in the fields today I'm working on swapping seats in Ol' Blue. When I go to town I'm also going to pick up a 7 pin trailer harness to wire in on the ol girl. Yesterday I put a pallet of seed in the back that was weighing about 2300 lbs. She squatted down pretty good but when I went down the road it didn't even know the extra weight was there.
I'm just a little nervous about pulling with my big cam and a 2400 stall. We'll see how it works, maybe it'll be ok.
I guess I'm not worried about the rear end. It's the Dana 60. 3.54 gear set and a Trac-loc that works very well. The trans is another story. It's fresh, but maybe not completely right and destined for failure. Last time I drove it (unloaded) I thought it was shifting a bit funny but I don't know. I'll keep an eye on it and if it continues then I will take it to someone who knows what they're doing.

Oh, got the seat finished up with a new seat cover. It's nice to actually have cushion. Now I sit about 4 inches higher!!!
I'm still poking around, trying to figure out the best way to coat the frame and suspension on the 67. POR-15, Rust Bullet, Eastwood's stuff......gotta come up with something.
If this is any help - I am going with Por 15 and then painting over the top with chassis black. POR15 is still the toughest stuff I have seen to date. I have guys putting this on things that get soaked with fertilizer and sit in water all the time and they have told me it holds up better than anything they have used. The POR15 is NOT UV Protected though so you need to put paint over it if it will sit in the sun - otherwise it will chalk up bad - But it won't rust.
I've heard that you'll want to primer POR-15 as soon as it get's tacky, otherwise you'll have a ton of sanding to do. Have you heard that George?
Pat: Have never heard of primering it. The Reps have always told me to paint it before it sets up otherwise you have to scuff (and it doesn't scuff very easy). I guess you could put primer on it but it would be one more step, and cost, that you wouldn't need. POR 15 will stick to the metal and paint will stick to POR 15 as long as it doesn't set up. If you completely remove all the rust down to bare steel you will want to metal etch the steel before you put the POR15. I have some literature on it if you want some.
Yeah, that makes sense George. Are you going to do you frame soon? I'll be curious to see how it comes out. But, it sounds like that's the direction I'll be going also. Are you going to puff can the chassis black, or use a spray gun?
