So far it looks to burn a quart in about 15 miles.
I forgot to add before that nothing on the heater controls in Blue was working. I pulled the glovebox out and found two wires unhooked going to the controls. Magically the lights in the controls worked and then I could turn the blower motor on!!!

Gotta love the simple fixes!
Hmmm... so that oil usage translates to around 60MPG. That's better than a Prius... too bad that is for oil consumption and not fuel!
Just scored a running 390 with factory 4 barrel for FREE....plus the truck it's in. '76 F350. Going to snag the PTO off it too, never know when a guy might want one of those. Now there really won't be enough time in the weekend!!!
I am surprised you haven't figured it out by now! I guess you're getting old.
Anyway, got a '72 Highboy for cheap. Body is junk and it burns ALOT of oil. Going to take the body off my '71 and put it on the highboy frame and then going to take a 390/4 barrel out of a '76 F-350 and put it in there and add some headers. Should be a solid old pickup then. I am hoping to do the engine swap this weekend. Depends on when my headers arrive I guess. I need to do the back brakes too, the left wheel cylinder is leaking.
Got my engines swapped. I must say that 390 4 barrel is a RUNNER!!! From a 10 mph rolling start 2nd gear wheel hops like crazy, missed 3rd gear but still hit 80 in less than a quarter mile. I was pretty happy. It even started on the first try and this 390 hadn't run for about two years. I was pleasantly surprised. If anyone has headers on a highboy with an FE they know what a pain they are.....the passenger side one goes around the engine mount and I had to "modify" the driver's side so that it didn't rub on the oil pan.
so as far as project updates i recently got my 94 f150 back from the local college since the front end was about to complete fall out from under it. Probally why i got it for 500 bucks.
Sorry for bad quality cell phone can only do so much.
The reason why I didn't go with Hedman's this time is that they have that goofy ball and socket design on the collectors and I can never keep the bolts tight. I've even tried red loctite and they still rattle loose. I'm hoping I don't have that problem with the Flowtechs as they have just a regular flange.
