Ok,, got a call back from a gent at Dennis Carpenter,, his research shows an F130 as a "F130 CA only Truck, 3/4 ton F/R" That was all he had,,, he is going to talk to the guy who did the research to see if he can come up with more,,, so I am guessing that it was a buy some time Emissions deal for Ford,,, I know that was right about the time they were choking the crap out of these things and trying to get them "clean" It has no catalytic converter,,, and I think just an EGR valve, no smog pump, so maybe it was a way to get a cheaper 3/4 truck to market?
I am still digging,,, got a hold of "The Henry Ford" museum thing,, they want a tad less,, $35 hr. for research on it,, with no guaranties,,, so I am hoping someone at DC or Henry Ford will be curious and do some digging, or maybe something else will turnup,,, but for now,,, that is the "new news"!
Ok,, was just reading somewhere,, that 1976 was the first year for the F150,,,,so the F130 was ,,,, I don't know,,, still have found nothing new,,,, I do have it for sale on CL,, my luck, I will sell it and THEN find out it was worth something!!
I've stripped down 2 of these. both 76's, auto's, F150's, 8 lugged dana 60's, & red and white, one a 390 the other a 360, one full ranger trim the other bare no trim. the first one I picked up from a kid in Eagle, NE the other off a farm in Beatrice.
Unfortunately ,,, there is no suspenseful music,,, da da da duhhh,,,,, just can't seem to find anything out,,, and it is now for sale,,,, going to put the funds into my 63 and get it road worthy,,,, I do really wish I could find a sales brochure,,, SOMETHING on it!!
Pickupman, if I was you, I wouldn't sell it just yet, if you ever find more info and it is indeed a low production number, you could ask more for it. Just my 2 cents. Any the reasons except aliens could be possibly true. I'm gonna search this just because I'm really super interested.

This F130 sounds familiar, and ive only had F350's that i read the tags of before... I know the cab on my 73 project is off of a 79 F150 but the F130 sounds familiar... Ill have to check that out when i get home
I still think the F130 has something to do with a Mexican thing. At least geared to export for the most part.
Have any of the guys from Oz down under chimed in yet? Seems to me there is something to that. But as all the records are gone it's gonna take a lot of research. I do think the info is still out there. The boys at Ford are still alive that did this. Someone out there knows.
Found this thread by googling F-130. Read the entire 12 pages. I too am the proud owner of one of these. I just bought it from a local farmer and bought insurance for it. Got a letter back from them stating that it was a bad Vin #. Only then did I see the F-13 designation on the door tag. F13MPB77238 It is green, no fender badges, explorer hood emblem, 390 w/ 8 lug wheels. Interesting reading. I don't know what I'm going to do to convince the ins. co. that it is for real.
