Getting to know you...
Patrick here 24 year old Broncoholic. Work in precision manufactuing, go to school close to, and live in pleasanton, ca (east bay). I've spent a lot of time on and off FTE since the early 2000's, still learning. Spent even more time in the engine bay and under my truck.
Been F***ing with a MAF swap that turned into a maf and engine swap for well over 2 years now.
I have a 1992 Eddie Bauer (laa-dee-dah) Bronco with a lot of work into it. 6" superlift w/ superrunner steering, ext. radius arms, lift leafs, traction bars. Smittybilt tubular f/r bumpers, Warn hubs, Custom Cragar 17x9" steelies. I've changed every bushing out to polyurethane (including cab mounts and axle pivots). I have a bolt-on intensive 302 that i'm ditching for my new roller block 351w (maybe a 377-383 stroker).
I got the maf swap to work running the 5.0 but not my e40d, I think it has something to do with 4wabs bull**** that was on the later MAF trucks. The old motor has wrapped L&L longtubes, edelbrock truck efi upper and lower with phenolic spacer, K&N intake tube, accel 19 lb/hr injectors (to be 30 lb for stroker someday), rebuilt stock heads (chunked a valve), shiny valve covers, msd coil and accel wires. Done a cool (in my opinion) front end with thin slat black billet grille, crystal clear light lenses, and an old Bronco script logo. Feel free to steal that idea.
Down the road i'd love to do a cut and turn/longtravel ttb, and a custom diff mount trac bar, and rocksliders. I will be doing the rear disc conversion and a steering box/shaft upgrade/replacement someday as well.
Of course its all on hold until I can get a key made or get the ignition cylinder out with no key.
Any 92-96 wiring experts in my area? (yeah right)

I guess I'll add to this list too.
The name's Mark. I'm 25 from North Stockton.
I just moved back here with my GF from San Diego. We've got a small dog poodle who loves having the back seat of the truck to himself, but would much rather just lay between us in the front. Kinda scared of being in the bed past about 45 MPH.
I was a truck driver in the Marines, spent the last 7 years there faithfully, and got back from Iraq in April, checked out of my unit in September. Was also a mechanic for a small speed shop for a few years, typical stuff for little kids who wanted "cool" cars, lowering it, installing intakes, bodykits, lights, MSD kits, alignments, whatever put food on the table.
My daily driver isn't a driver at all. It's my lil Kawi Ninja. My first bike, but i never really had the want to get rid of it for another as i usually commute with it only. Only time you won't see me riding is in the fog, and snow, but that doesn't happen around here. Car prior to this was my GF's 98 mustang (we bought a 2008 CRV for her), my 97 Saturn SL2 with over 200k on it, and before that was my 93 Saturn SL2.
I'm not sure what else, but i'm pretty easy to talk to. Don't know fords very well, but i always strive to learn a bit more. I know my way around GM's fairly well as our cars tend to be from GM or from Honda.

Put in a 390 HP then promply blew it yup. Now I have a 1994 F-150 302 4X4. And I rebuilt a Boss 429 from 2 truck lot of parts, still have the car with 1832 original miles - the retirement account. Currently responsible for three kids. Hobbies include dirt bike racing (42X is my D-36 number) CC and Enduro's, wine and beer making.
Hey, I thought I'd introduce myself.
Name is Chad, moved out here from Florida a while back and I live in Concord.
Just picked up a 89 F250 4x4 w/460 today after about a year of searching for the right deal. I'm not as much into trucks as I am bikes but every bike guy has to have a good truck.
I was a diesel mechanic in the Marines back about 13 years ago and I got some great training in diesel/vehicular repair and schematic reading. In addition to my full time job as a computer geek, I also work out of my garage and I specialize in wiring repair and make wire harness's for motorcycles and cars. -See.. the Marines was good to me.. I have one usable skill besides being a pro beer drinker..
So you'll probably see me pop in here and ask questions from time to time about this truck.
I've been looking forward to finally being able to put one of my bikes in the truck and take it up to Oregon or Baha to ride some dirt and not have to ride there.

Hey there, my name is Steve, mid forties also a Ford guy. Started the Ford thing in highschool stocking a 68 Mustang. Currently I have a 48 Ford F1 which came to me as a partially started new Hotrod. I have spent the last year, getting it started then taking it apart. The plan is to make it look pretty stock on the outside and run with the stock steering and suspension once the drive train goes back in and see how it goes from there. It came with an old wornout 429 lincoln engine in it, which is now a new rebuilt 460 with Dove-C cast iron heads. The C6 transmission was also shot, but now is rebuilt and waiting install too. I put a 1968 9" ford rear on it, and a classic performance disc brake conversion on the front along with their front disc rear drum brake booster kit. I also bought their 460 motor mount setup and transmission cross member. I relocated the fuel tank behind the rear axle under the bed of the truck(again classic performance stuff). I hope to get the engine and tranny in this month, and then start installing the american auto wire hotrod wiring harness after that. I found out that Sanderson makes headers for a 460 engine, that fit the stock steering setup on the f1's so that will be next after the wiring. Anyway I've chimed in here for over a year and thought I should introduce myself. Also interested in swap meets in the area, I'm from Petaluma, near Santa Rosa. Thanks and hello!
I also have a blog page on the truck at www.fordf1.blogspot.com

new with a 2002 E350 S/D
Hiya'll
Denny here. Just got a 2002 E350 S/D Monday night with 69K miles on it. Got a utility trailer and a 2 horse slant load and a mule to go in it. My old '82 6.2 diesel suburban has too many problems to remain as my towing and hauling vehicle, so I sold my 2002 Sub WRX wagon and got the Ford Van. So far so good.
Gonna take the warn winch and invertor off the old GM and put them on the new/used Ford Van.
I am 52 yrs old, one wife and no kids and live in Sebastopol, CA. When the weather's good I commute to work on a '82 Honda GL500I. Work as a sales engineer for a company that manufactures and sells airflow measurement equipment. Cal Maritime grad and used to work as CE on oceanographic reesearch vessels out of Monterey CA.
I have used forums for just about everything and it is the fastes way to learn things and not waste time I think. Glad to be here - thanks - Denny

Howdy!
My name is Les (leshall89), and I've been bumming around the FTE forums for about a year now. I just found this part of the site for Nor Cal, and requested to join. Work and live in the San Leandro area of the east bay, but my roots are in Quincy.
I'm 46 and I have bled blue oval blood all my life, mainly from the family connection. My dad used to sit me on his lap in the family 57 fairlane and 66 mustang and let me steer while he did the gas pedal when I was probably 5. Let's see that happen nowadays...
Growing up on the poor side means you have to learn how to do it yourself, or you walk, so I learned alot from my dad about general repair, for everything. I laughed when I read somebody else's post about holding the flashlight (under the car fixing something on the dirt driveway).
My first vehicle was a 52 F1 when I was 14, paid $150. Then I got my dad's old 63 F100unibody shorbed for $400, with the I6 and 3 on the tree when I was 16. Anybody else have to crawl under the truck to correct the shift linkage? My buddies and I converted that over to a 390 4 spd. What you learn to accomplish with little money... It would pull the front wheels off the ground going into 3rd.
Many vehicles since then, mostly Fords, and now I've come full circle...restoring the 74 F100 my dad bought when I was in high school, that I wasn't allowed to drive back then. Been sitting in pieces since 97, knowing what I had in mind someday. Well, someday came about a year ago with a full frame off restoration, all on my own. I've posted some pics in my gallery with the starting point. It's been a year, and I'm about 95% finished. Fired up the 501 (bored and stroked 460), C6 a couple months ago. I didn't think old style 2-chamber flowmasters with turndowns under the bed were gonna be this loud! Anyway, I can honestly say I've turned every nut and bolt, taken out all the original glass and put back in without breaking any of them, all new weatherstripping and rubber, and new autowire complete harness. Even did the hotrod air. It's been a blast!
Looking at about 400hp and 500tq. Dad's gonna ****!
Hope to run into some of you comrades sometime. Maybe heading down to the F100 Western Nationals next June, 2009, we'll see...

Hey Les,
I just approved your membership into our chapter. Welcome aboard. Sounds like you really do bleed blue. You might be interested in our chapter project. Thumper is going to be a mud racer. It is a '72 F250 2wd being converted to a 4wd with a 460 dropped in it.
Welcome aboard and I hope to see your '74 sometime.

I put together a 72 F250 for my younger brother a few years ago that had been sitting for a few years, rebuilt the 300 I6 and gave it to him for Christmas. Used quite a few parts from my 74 since I knew I'd be replacing with new stuff. He was pretty surprised, and happy. My older brother has it now, and I doubt he'll ever let it go.
Let me know if I can help with Thumper.
