Getting to know you...
I believe we have a few FTE members in and around Redding. We do have one chapter member that I know of in Redding, goes by madathlon, but he hasn't been active on here in quite some time.
Without giving away too much here..I was born in San Jose, CA...and I'm 41...I used think I wouldn't see 30 but what guy hasn't?
Pretty much grew up in Santa Cruz..Aptos, Soquel..little towns around Monterey Bay..our family eventually wound up in Moss Landing...which is where I was able to buy my first truck...a 1966 F100 Shortbox..I've talked about that here in this chapter in various posts and so...but I will tell you that our family moved from California to Georgia a total of 3 times.. 1969, 1972 and 1979....why? Ask my parents, I was just a know nothing oblivious little kid...Dad was a Georgia boy and all his kin were dying off and I guess he had the idea of who knows what? I don't and have run out of angles to ponder it...
Hooked on Ford Trucks though since I was a little kid...yep, Dad rented a UHaul and drove our stuff back in that....used the experience B/S his way into a job driving line-haul trucks..YES 18 wheelers, doubles, triples you name it...if anyone thinks I've got stories...HE's got stories...I spent the first 30 years of my life trying to hold a candle to them...and well...I'm not quite there yet...prolly won't make it since I've mellowed some..
I spent about 14 years of my life as a capenter, got married, had two beautiful children, got divorced. My girlfriend and I have been together what, 15 years now... We 'kill the buddha' every day..that's a Zen thing...it means in order for something to live, sometimes it must die or somesuch...I'm not some retrograde, tie dyed hippie...my Christian roots run pretty deep...
I don't know I guess I'm just a nut for good old American Steel ..so all along the way I bought many old cars..some good ones some bad ones...
Hobbies: Trucks of course but I really don't have one since I sold my boat...NOW that's a story... Well go figure it out when a dude NEVER owned a boat ..decides to by a 60 year old, WOOD Boat....ex-military with twin diesels (Detroit 6-71s)...and that 1st boat is 60+ FEET long....the trip out the Golden Gate...that was a thrill..
Work: Own my own business, printing and mailing materials for Non-profits and a few companies...NO it's not junk mail...it's stuff people want to know about when they donate money to this charity or that charity...
There is nothing I like better than hearing or telling a good story, happy, sad, cautionary you name it...I guess it's an offshoot of being a sort of voracious reader...
Future plans/goals:
1) Start a real estate development company within which to execute both my business knowledge and building skills in the construction of 1 to ? homes built on spec...YES, very risky...but you only go around ONCE my friends...so go for the gusto...
2) Build a wood boat from scratch....a trailerable 30 - 35 foot boat with, you got it at least one, perhaps 2, 6-71 diesels...probably a semi displacement hull cause, well let's just The Farallones ain't far enough offshore for my ambitions...there is NOTHING I've found in this world of pleasure and pain that surpasses piloting a boat... I think piloting a plane is probably more exhilarating...but I don't know if I'll get to do that in this life...
3)Rebuild my first drive train....FE 390 mildly built all around mellow sounding towable cruisable engine...want to mate the 390 to a late model Heavy Duty 5 or 6 speed turning a 3:54-1 Dana 60
My wild days are pretty far behind me but I still love to get stone drunk and listen to Hank Williams, Sr., Sinatra, Elvis, Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash or Jerry Lee Lewis whilst puttering around the yard...if'n I gots to go somewhere....tomorrow is another day....we'll catch that train later on boys.
I think anyone that's 35~ to 40 and up have seen a lot of changes in this country of ours....from the political to the demographic to the growth and changing of towns we've come to know...those that are in their 60s know, on an even deeper level that all them changes AIN'T necessarily been for the best.. Before I devolve into some political tirade....
Let me just say that I'm proudly an Independent Conservative and straight up Nationalist...America's interests have got to be Priority One and that's it....
These days...I love helping my two children toward adulthood...my daughter is almost there..my son...well he's got some wild oats to sow just yet. People that get to know me eventually understand how conservative I am...but my kids....their even more so..and that gives me heart that when I'm dead and gone...the flame of the country I care about will burn on for at least one more generation.
Peace Out

Hatred and Bigotry are for the ignorant and soulless. I don't care what color you are or even what you do when you turn down the lights...Just understand, this creed...."Nemo Me Impune Lacessit" (No one provokes me with impunity) now let's rock on have one helluva good time.
Wooden men in plastic boats rule!
You know, I've been pining for the water and wave since I got rid of mine 2 years ago....but you know...with a 60 year old 63 foot boat...your ratio of use vs. maintenance goes like 1 to 20....and you never, ever catch up well, let's say you might if you go up on the hard for 4 or 8 solid years....and even then, at our level at least, every turn is a compromise over dollars, ability, vision and so on.....and when you're done...you not..
Thankfully a dear friend has indicated he'd allow me to use his West Wight Potter...a simple little 15-18 Gunter rigged sailboat which is sea worthy enough to ease my offshore ambitions and simple enough to sail a power boat ex-pat can learn...

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Truckee, eh? I used to live in Tahoe City, went to the 8th grade in Truckee, at what was then called Sierra Mountain Intermediate school. It's that big concrete school just off the north side of I-80 at the intersection of hwy. 89, don't know what they're calling it these days. I graduated from No. Tahoe high. I really miss living up there...
I like it...profound so as to pert near border on the spiritual.

Go Stock or Go Home.
I figured since I've been an
member for quite a while that i should finally join my chapter!!!I'm Greg and am forty-something years old, married with 4 kids, and have lived most of my life in Santa Rosa. I drive a 2005 F-250 4x4 and love it! My first truck was a 1978 F-100 and now I am back to a Ford again. My family loves to go camping and quading with our Weekend Warrior trailer.
This is the best truck site around!!!
My names Jeremy, I'm 29 and currently located here in northern calif in Lodi with my fiance and 2 kids 3 years / and 10 months. Currently working as a regional (south western 6 states OTR Truck driver for J.B Hunt. Been with the company for about a month. Total career time of 1 year with a few different companies. Been working with forums for about 5 years and computers for about 15 years. Been raised around the automotive world sence i was old enough to reach the pedals. Other hobbies of outdoors sports like hiking, camping, 4 wheeling ( suzuki samurias ) ect. Bounced around the state between Antioch (1year), Pioneer/Jackson areas (20 years) to Winnemucca Nv ( 1 year ). I was raised in the mountains of amador county where I became introduced to the automotive world by my father mainly working and building on suzuki samurias and 2nd generation geo/chevy trackers. I really got involved into that scene when I was shown what kind of capabilities those vehicles had/have. From there It went into 4x4 meets on the rubicon and 4wheel forums One of which included alot of off roading guru's of zukiworld.com. After moving to this area I decided that i was going to need a bigger vehical so after getting a letter on the windshield from a ford financial advisor stating that she worked with people with minimal/no/bad credit issues, All excited about the chance to upgrade, I went down to the local ford dealership to just talk about the options and to see what would happen. After 9 hours of manipulaion and credit checks, I had mentioned to the advisor that i was looking for a bigger vehical possibly a truck and I was willing to trade in my 2001 4x4 tracker. While I was out on the lot looking around, they were all inside trying to get the bank to ok my info. Come to find out the bank only had 1 vehical that i would potentially be cleared for. It was a 2005 Ford F-150 PK Style truck with the triton V-8. Apon being introduced to this truck, My jaw dropped when I found out what the bank had cleared for me and my family givin my credit and income limitations. Ive had the truck for about a month now and Im loving every minute of it.
I then decided to jump online and find a forum/site and learn more about these trucks after being told that the options for upgrades, and the parts lists were almost endless. After looking at a couple different sites I found you guys and I'm so far getting a kick out of this site. It's good to be here and I certainly plan to stick around.

My over all reason behind searching and interest in joining into a Local dedicated forum is to Gain and share knowledge and eventually get out into shows and local meets with other truck owners. I look forward to hanging out here and to share and gain knowledge of these Awesome trucks.
