If you are planning on tearing apart that 360, you might want to consider transforming it into a 390. It'll provide you a lot more grunt. All it takes is crank, pistons, and rods.
Well, that's never all it takes, but if it were a fresh rebuild that is all it would take.
Welcome to the site and that Mopar definitely needs to be sittign in my garage. No room for Mopars on this site, and I would not want any problems besetting a new member.
You may have first dibs Mike but I have the room! Well, Sned, if you ever find that you have too many projects, and need to unload something, my offer still stands.
Welcome aboard Allen. I also have a 1970 F250 4X4 formally a 360, now a 390. Ifyou go for converting it to a 390, you will have a lot more oomph with no real damage to your fuel mileage.

currently we have a 1967 f-250, original 353 was taken out, replaced with a 360 w/c-6 tranny. original rear end with 3.73 gears. last january '07 connecting rod went thru the block. went to engine re-new, got me a 360 block turned into a 390. ran great until water pump hub broke off, ruined a new radiator. truck now at a shop have a few thing corrected, hopefully be done in about 2 weeks.
we are currently looking for a place in modesto, since i work up there. ive been doing water treatment for past 10yrs.
when i was married (ewwww) ex-wife said i was not making enough money, so jumped from job to job.
i havent been happier now with my new life and new friends here on fte.
by the way, i only paid $50.00 for the truck, surprised my gf with it, turn to find out her dad had a 1969 f-250, same color and looks as our present one.
i wish i could get the rest of my truck pic on here, but it wont let me, it says the pic are too big any suggestions, ive tried re-sizing them smaller, but still it wont work.
Welcome Frank!
Quite a few of us are driving Bumpsides around here. There's plenty of house rentals & sales here in Modesto. Then you'll be closer to 3Mike6, and you'll have to go over to his house every other weekend.
