Micke Grove meet.
Well, I don't know about the rest of the attendees of this meet, but I for one had a great time. This was the maiden trip for the camper, and myself, and I learned a few things as I expected I would. One thing I learned is that when you bring along charcoal brickets, make sure you bring some starter fluid.
And tongs would be nice for flipping the hot dogs too!I left much later than planned on Friday night, and did not arrive at the Stockton/Lodi RV park until 15 minutes after midnight. I had already seen Tim's post regarding switching to the Tower RV park, but I did not want to try and find it that late at night, so I stayed at the Lodi park. Wasn't too bad, even with the 4 trains that came by throughout the night.

I left the RV park about 8:30 am and proceeded to take the scenic route (in other words getting lost) making a big circle trying to find Armstrong Street. Once in the park I spotted Dan's truck and trailer combo, and pulled up next to it.
Quite a few people were there, and there were a lot of nice looking old Ford cars, and of course the F-100 trucks. There were even some Mopars there, one of which was a 1968 black Diodge Charger with a 426 Hemi in it. Complete with direct injected NOS.
A handful of rat rods also made the scene as did a smattering of Chebbies. I think my favorite Ford though was the 1966 Mustang fastback painted black and white, complete with flashing red and blue lights in the grille, and sun visor, and the PA/siren mounted on the trans tunnel.
Jag brought his car down, and it looked flawless. Don't know what year it was, but it looked like he just drove it off the dealer's lot.
The F100 club was playing oldies on the PA and everyone seemed to be having a good time. There was an easter egg hunt for the little kids, as well as a pinata bashing session.
Finally got the chance to put faces to names of a few of the members, still waiting to meet Mike and his family, and Clint. I am sure there will be other meets to go to when that will happen

Anyway, about 2:30 the F-100 club decided to leave, and a few of us stayed around to help Dan get the motor, trans, rear end into his truck. Couldn't have him doing all the work now could we?

There was plenty of light left when someone made the suggestion to move the get together to Tim's RV park. So we caravaned over there, where Tim, Dan and Andy entertained us with their guitar playing abilities. It quickly became apparent that Dan is quite an accomplished guitar/mandolin player.
I left about 9pm or so, and was trying to make the two and a half hour drive home in one shot, however, I was just too tired, so I pulled into the rest stop about 72 miles north of Fresno and crashed there until morning. Drove home then and made it here about 10:30am.
Not a bad way to spend a couple of days in my book.
Got to meet members, see fantastic looking old iron, and was able to check out the camper. All done in one weekend. Next time I will make sure the camper and I are more prepared, but all in all, a quite enjoyable time. Will post up some pics as soon as I get them downloaded to the computer

Oh, and Dan did a lot more entertaining on the guitar than I did.
Andy, don't underestimate your abilities. You are a fine guitarist as well. I must say, Dan kicks *** (moderaters, referring to a donkey of course), but you played very well yourself. Can't wait to get together with you guys again. Good times.
I also want to thank everyone for sharing information and listening to my saga of the sort of 360 I have. You gals, guys, and one dog are fun to hang around with.
Karl
PS- Tim, I will PM you about the intake.
We can visit his museum of fine collectable cars, and not-yet-cars.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Folks, I think we have the makings of a great chapter and we all seem to mesh pretty darn well together. I, for one, had a blast and spent one of the more enjoyable weekends I've had in a long while in you-all's company, and look forward to doing it again. Let's see just how big and how well we can build this chapter and drag a few more members out of the woodwork to attend upcoming functions.
And kudos to John for suggesting this venue, and making it happen...
The Delta chapter of the F100 Elites is a great bunch, but they need more members. Anybody who lives closeby amy want to consider membership.
Thanks for all the kind words everybody. It was a success because you all came out in style. John
