Getting to know you...

So, I'm Leilani- as most of you know. My handle is pretty obvious. Andym purchased a Bronco when my car died and I was driving it for quite some time. I fell in love with that Bronco but now he drives it. I commute to work so I drive a gas econo car.
I'll be the ripe age of 32 next month. (still in my prime)

Ok, how much detail do you want? Cuz I got details up the wazoo!
lol- I'll just keep it simple.
I was born and raised in Sacramento. My parents had a rough marriage and I spent most of my adolesent life going back and forth between them after they divorced. (which, I might add, didn't work out.) It's all good now. I had some great people who raised the hell outta me and did a fine job! I was married at a very young age and divorced 6 years later. I don't have any little ones.

I'm kind of a hippie, except I wear deoderant. I appreciate people who are openminded, tolerant, warm and giving... kinda like me! haha
I have insanely strong beliefs regarding religion and politics but you'd never guess because I prefer to keep it to myself.
I started working in the automotive industry at the age of 19 until I was 27. I started reading Consumer Reports and Car and Driver and a pretty early age. I always had a thing for cars. The older the better. I've always cared alot about automotive companies and how well they built their vehicles.
Now I'm a Certified Massage Therapist and have been for 5 years. The work is very rewarding. I care alot about people and their well-being.
So that's it really. I live in Mountain View (SF Bay Area). The weather is so awesome here. California will always be my first love. I'm falling pretty hard for the Tahoe area now. The people are cool, the area is just breathtaking and well... it's just too expensive, but what part of Cali isn't?
Cheers!

And Tahoe is indeed a beuatiful place. I never regret the years I spent there, I just wish there had been more of them.
My senior year I only went to school 1/2 day, and then I would hit the slopes for a 1/2 day skiing without all the crowds. That was the way to do it!

I am 37 years old and grew up in Montana before moving to California in 1997 for work. I work in the manufacturing part of biotech company that makes cancer and heart attack drugs. I am proud of what I do and how it helps people.
Well, enough about me. When I was born, my parents had a 69 Mustang. In 1970, they bought a new 1970 Ford f250 Highboy (4x4) that was originally ordered by a local mining company that never took delivery. It has the great extra heavy-duty options and no extra frills like AC, power brakes, power steering, auto transmission or AM radio. It is a bare bones truck.
This truck has lived through deep cold winters and started when it was -25 outside without a problem. It's been through deep snow and rarely got stuck unless the driver (mainly me) did something stupid with it. It yanked stumps out of the ground, hauled hay, coal, firewood, everything in my dorm, and tons of cement and other things. I took my friends skiing and went on dates in it. My parents took the family camping and on vacations in it. For the past 10 years, my brother has used it on his ranch.
Late last year, he bought a 1976 F250 and said it is my turn with the old 1970 again. Right now, he is getting the engine rebuilt (360), new tires and new exhaust. Once it is in decent running shape again, I am going to pick it up in early May and will bring back to my place in Vallejo and will then start the long road of restoration.
I found this website through my brother. He posted a picture of our family truck hauling coal. Since I found out I would get the truck, I've posted many questions on this site and gotten great information. As I learn from my restoration, I will share along the way. I also want to help out with the group's project truck too.
Well, thanks to everyone for sharing information and support. I look forward to meeting and getting to know all of you more.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
charged me $4K. The only body work they did was the hood and the cab as the bed and 4 fenders were new. You might post the question on the forum of who has a painter in nor cal that they like. Good luck, Jag
I've recently been scolded for not popping in to the Nor Cal chapter here so I'll give it a go.
My name is Gail. (NO, I'm not a girl!) It's been a sick joke by my parents for 45 years now, naming their second son a girl's name. I've learned to deal with it. Hopefully y'all can too.
Transplanted to the Bay Area in '82 after growing up in Central Oregon. Currently live in Tracy. Make a 50 mile commute M-F to North San Jose. What a joy that is! Been at the same employer for over 23 years. I'm a semiconductor R & D Technician.
Ford's have been part of my life since birth. My first car was a '72 Gran Torino Sport. What a dog that was. Did my first engine swap in the old '69 almost 2 years ago now...that's how/why I found this place, FTE.
Divorced with 2 kids. I know enough about the family court system in CA that I could probably do consulting work. Currently have a common law wife of 10 years. We have 3 dogs 2 cats.
I live for bass fishing in the delta, and at 43 I started to learn how to play guitar. Just last week bought a slick new Fender Telecaster, first electric, and am really starting to make some noise with that thing.
I've met Mike (ford390gashog) in Brentwood on a couple of occasions. He is the same age as my daughter, they went to the same HS. He was a great big help getting my 390 dialed in properly. (I don't see his postings anymore, kind of wondering what happened with him) Also see that you all have gotten together over the last few months, swap meets and the like. On every occasion I already had something going on or would have enjoyed hanging out with the likes of the Norcal chapter brethern.
There's probably more, but it's pretty boring, except to me.
It'd be nice to catch up with some of y'all sometime. If you're ever on the California delta, let me know. I'll show ya some good fishing holes. Maybe even throw back a couple of cold adult beverages while we're at it. Got a shot of my personal best in my gallery.
Cheers.

Welcome, JagOver the next few months I'll be rewiring, pulling the heads for some work, and all the other fun stuff that comes with working on older vehicles.
This is my first Truck and Ford project I'm sure I'll have lots of questions for everyone.
My other fun project is a '73 Dodge Challenger 4 speed w/EFI stroker 408.
