My truck does not have a lie-o-meter. I calculate mileage by hand.

Well I picked the truck up and here is what it seems like. Gas mileage seems to have gone up, A little better interstate power, slow speeds it seems about the same. The only negative that I noticed was that it feels to have a little more turbo lag. Just my 2 cents.

Hello All,

Anyone out there with an 05 that has had the reflash done and the EGR disconnected? Everything ok? As this flash directly relates to the emissions, no CEL still after the flash and the EGR still disconnected?

Thanks,
Chris

In shop for january recall

Took my 05 6.0 f-250 in for recall 05e15,CSP 05b32, and CSP 05b27 low/reverse snap ring. All were on the same service notification letter. They gave me a rental granny wagon.Told me it will take two days. Truck is stock as far as drive train, air, exhaust no engine mods. Truck has been running very good since I bought it in july only 4175 miles so far. Just to and from work and grub run on the weekends been busy repairing shack I live in and trucks, tractors, trailers and forklifts at work. Got my fingers crossed.

I had mine done last Friday (the 27th), then took a load down to Louisiana. I think I actually gained about 1 mpg!!. I think it did a little better pulling some hills. I'll keep tabs on it for a few more loads and see how it does.

Was it cold over night and not plugged in?

I dropped mine off this morning for the recall.

05E15 work done today

2005 F250 Lariat CC PSD Torqueshift FX4 LB

I took my truck in this morning and the dealer called just before noon and said it was ready. It just turned over 18,000 miles and so far no problems except for annoying check engine lights. Maybe this re-flash will fix the bug indicating there is a problem with remote start. The truck does not have remote start.

I'll pay attention to how it sounds, drives, etc and report back later.

I just posted my experience with the 05B35 recall (same as the 05e15 I think) on the post with that name.

Bottom line is that I can't tell much difference except a little more turbo pressure and maybe a little more power at the low end.

You must have missed that episode of Myth Busters! Tailgate down gives you worse mileage than tailgate up. They ran two identical trucks from San Francisco out to Mojave and back, and the tailgate-down truck ran out of gas about 30-miles sooner than the tailgate-up truck. That myth was BUSTED!

HEY! I started a thread about that about a year ago and lost the fight on the theory. I figured the design of newer trucks were more aerodinamically efficient to consider the tailgate. Cool! I wish I had that mithbuster episode as evidence back then.

You guys 'n gals keep posting your results of the emmisions recall work. I'm kinda holding out for just a little while longer as my truck is running great and I hate to mess that up. Good to see that so far it appears to be a good thing.

I wish admin would merge all of these threads on it though. (hint hint)
