Do the 05's have different EBP sensors or will the rest of us be getting the recall as well?
The letter discusses "we are conducting a performance enhancement of emission related components and the on-board diagnostic (OBD) system on certain 04-05 F-Super Duty, Excursion, and E-350/450 vehicles equipped w/6.0 diesel engines."
Got my letter as well, I think that I will wait and see if there are any problems that come out of this first because, trouble free for 1 year and still going no problems at all.
I got my letter too. Just waiting to see what is reported. I have an Edge Juice/Attitude and I really don't feel like taking it out. Truck is running great with 13k on it.
My letter has 1 recall and a customer satisfaction program notice on it, the customer satisfaction program (05B32) is good till 12-31-08, The recall letter say that if you don not do the recall your DMV may not renew your registration till it is accomplished. It affects California, Mass., Maine, New York and Vermont they are also required to reflash to latest programming under this recall. Besides I have to take mine in for a coolant leak at the right rear head. This happend last year and it was the egr cooler. Does the egr cooler last only a year?
i got my letter yesterday. man i will be pissed if it ends up running bad.its all doing just fine, i cant help but to think if i let them do this recall i am opening a box of worms. and now i will need to take my edge out of the system for programing. i sure have second thoughts about this.
The dealer did my recall before I received a notice on it. It's been a week and I can tell no difference. They also did recall nimber 59B01..a road test?????
I just got my letter also, but the recall work had been done on my truck a couple of weeks ago when I had it in the dealership for a rear end alignment (from an accident - hate getting hit when sitting still... ouch) and request to do something about the blue smoke and roughness. Since the recall work, my truck seems to be fine. The engine sounds louder when cold than it did before, I believe.
check out your fuel mileage after the re-program, mine dropped to 15 from 19, and they can`t explain why, i do 99% highway @90kms (55) mph, it does run smoother and definetly quieter, but the fuel usage suxs... another bright idea from ford..
I thought my mileage actually increased initially, but it didn't - probably had a tail wind. Since I am almost always with trailer, my mileage suffers.... :-(
I have an 04 350 SD deisel 6.0. I runs great but there was a recall to reprogram the chip. I now get 1-2 more MPG, getting about 20-22 at 55MPH.. Good recall. IT was starting to shift hard from first to second, they fixed that to.
Just made around trip from LA to Laughlin, all highway, tailgate down doing 80 mph...still didn't get 17 mpg. This truck is stuck on 16 mpg, city or highway, it is always around 15 to 16 mpg. However, it is running so good I am afraid to take it in for anything, recall or not.

Forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question, but do you have a lie-o-meter and do you reset it each fillup? You will see almost no change in mpg if you don't reset it each time because it calculates the mpg for all miles since the last reset.
The reason I ask is because in a previous post it had some people complaining that their meter was stuck on a certain mpg, but that they never reset it.
I'm taking my truck in tomorrow for the new flash and I'm concerned about any loss in mpg. I'm getting really good mileage and I've never had any problem with the truck. But most everyone on this post says that it's an ok flash and shouldn't affect my mileage.
