I'm a computer programmer working for a company that produces children's educational software titles. Lots of Sesame Street and Nickelodeon branded stuff...
Just retired after a smidge over 22 years in the Air Force. First 18 as a Munitions (AMMO) troop. Last four and a smidge as a First Sergeant. Absolutely best job in the entire world hands down. Dang proud to have served and get misty eyed when I see the Flag flying. Really burns my backside when people claim to have been in the service yet have not. Saw one on tv the other night. Settin in a wheel chair at an airport, claimed to have just come back from Afghanistan havingbeen wounded. All crying and stuff feeling he was being mistreated. I think he missed his flight. Come to find out, he was not nor had he ever served, but was a roofer and fell of a roof. I could tell he was lying and had I been there, boy howdy, it would have got ugly quick. Sorry, went off on a vent but as of right now I am workingpart time at our local Christian TV station as an air switcher. Fancy name for changing the channel. Hoping to pick something full time up soon! For all you GI's still serving, keep pressing on. I know it gets tough, but ya'all are kicking butt and we are all proud of you guys and gals. For you vets out there, thanks for making it easy for me.
Nothing. Just sit around and wait for the checks to come in. I spent 20 years in the Air Force, then spent another 14 years working for an aerospace defense contractor. I am a volunteer driver for a DAV (Disabled American Veterans) van once a week transporting patients to the VA Clinic in El Paso, Texas, or the VA hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I also cook at the local soup kitchen once a month. Other than that, going to bible study once a week and spanish classes twice a week, I don't do a thing.
