I am an overseas contractor as a Heavy equipment mechanic, and I have my own grading and landscaping business. The contracting job is so I can buy more equipment for my business.
I work for a gas supply warehouse filling oxygen, acetylene, helium and nitrogen cylinders. I also pressure test them and re-certify them for use after the cylinders pass their life expectancy. So anytime you see me at work, chances are I have gas!

Wow that's been a while. Worked 4 places since then. Currently working security at Children's Mercy Hospitals. Also cerner but I see myself quiting there in a couple months.
Read all 36 pages of posts on this thread. Lot of talent here on FTE. Had to retire in 95 after 35 yrs in specialty sheetmetal construction (includes 4 yrs w/USAF 63 to 67 working w/special metals). Started as helper, served two appreticeships plus specialty schooling. Worked on old buildings repairing & replacing worn out metal. Now it would be called "Historical Restoration". We called it doing it the way it was built originally. Never looked at it as work but as a challenge to make it as good or better than it was when new. Loved the views from tall buildings and steeples.
Last 13 yrs I have learned to slow down and enjoy life one day at a time.
well when I first joined here I was working at a Days Inn in housekeeping for 2 years and now I work for the school system in the lunch rooms it is pretty cool I work when school is open and off when there is no school yuppie I get my weekends off now and during the summer I can do more with my kids lol.
i work in a foundry, we melt down metal (copper, aluminum, and brass mostly) and make stuff out of it. We make a lot of different stuff. One day we could be making street light poles and the next day engine parts. Buy we mostly make water pumps (not for cars).
I work for Veolia Environmental/Industrial Services in Houston.We work in refineries and chemical plants cleaning all the crap out of tanks and piping.I specialize in cuttining holes(doorsheets) in tanks using 40,000 psi water when there`s still product in the tank and it`s unsafe to use a torch.
